I just completed my Endless Legend collection and added the DLCs for dirty cheap money. Hopefully will give me the kick in the rear to start playing that game, looks fun.

IMO, New Vegas was a waste of time, money, and effort. Uninspired, bland, and boring.

I did appreciate the bug fixes though over FO3.

for $6.79, hell even $10 I think the ultimate edition was worth it, for me anyway.

I already have 8 hours into a character on very hard difficulty (not survival mode though... bullet weight? Fuck that noise.) and have been enjoying myself a good amount, dont really care too much about the story, I just enjoy a decent RPG.

You know I am not huge into the 2D indie games, but how is sheltered? Looks like it might actually be a very interesting game.

If you thought that about NV, what the hell did you think about FO3?

I quite liked FO3. The world was so much more interesting in FO3 vs NV. It was a buggier game, no doubt, but at least it was interesting. I logged probably 10 times more hours in FO3 than in NV.

Huh I would have thought Elite: Dangerous would have dropped in price since its a featured sale.

Yes these are suppose to have the lowest prices right away and all throughout the sale

Well it did just come out 2 weeks ago :)

New Vegas came out in November and was on sale for Black Friday.
I think Skyrim was marked down shortly after release as well.

Hm, I feel kind of weird not buying a single thing. The issue for me is that we're so close to the usual Winter sale that there isn't really a reason for me to buy a game at x% discount when it could be at a greater discount in about a month.

I haven't either, but I've been watching some drama unfold over the Steam sale. A bunch of people (mostly EU/AUS) people are in a rage over devs upping the prices the day before the sale then putting them on sale for 50% etc. Now, I've seen this happen on Steam pretty much as soon as early access happened and it is a very common stunt to pull during sales in the US (Guitar Center/Musicians Friend, BB, etc).

Apparently this practice is illegal over there, I am not sure about here, but everyone who pays any attention to pricing knows this happens.

To be fair, its less than a month out and if a game is already at a lower point than it has ever been, then its unlikely to go lower.

Sure, the game prices may not change at all, but even if they drop just a dollar, that's not a bad savings. Add up enough of them dollars, and that's a whole other game! :p

Picked up Tomb Raider, Neptunia, and Sonic Adventure 2 for all less than $20 and Witcher 2 for $3 a month ago.

I'm beginning to see how people accumalate giant backlogs. Definitely eager for Tomb Raider, seems like Uncharted on PC, of which I like.

What the heck is with these studios rushing to put their games on sale so quick after release? What signal does that send to legit gamers who even buy games at release for full price?

Also picked up 10 games... no time to play any, more to add to the backlog. Not enough hours in the day.

The lack of daily/flash deals, combined with unimpressive sale prices, has completely destroyed my impulse buying thus far.

I agree this should change. Instead of the 'loyal customer' premium, it's the sucker premium', discounted within a month. Think there'll be fewer and fewer who pay it.

But I guess competition makes it hard for each game to not discount. If you don't, the other games do, and people grab the discounted ones.

Don't know an easy fix to it. Even saying a time they won't have a sale can get people to wait to get it until then. Maybe it'll cause more content only for paying more early.

It's simple really. They know the fans will buy, hell they'll preorder the game at whatever price. After the first month, they know those who would buy the game unconditionally already did so, and since now their goal is to make money off DLCs, they want more people to have the base game so they put it on sale.

Trine 3 for less than $8.......seems like a good deal. I know it'll eventually be lower, but this is a fairly new game.

Afraid to try it... look at those bad steam reviews. :(

Trine 1 & 2 were amazing must-plays!

This steam sale is always a total non-event. The xmas sale is less than a month away They should probably just scrap it. Looks like they went half assed this year anyway.

This sale format sucks. I looked at it 5 minutes after going live and have not been back. With the daily and flash sales I would be anxious to open it up several times a day to see what was on sale and would most likely make an impulse buy or two. Not this time, no reason. Hopefully they go back to the old format for the christmas sale.

Do you guys think Fallout 3 and Fallout NV will be on sale for cheaper in the next Christmas sale? Or the same?
