steam deals

Steam is annoying me. I can't buy more than about 5 games as gifts before steam locks my account out as being stolen. Buying a hundred copies is becoming an all-day affair. Stupid ordering system, and even stupider CSR's.

Picked up Mirror's Edge, Stalker 1, and The Witcher. I played the Witcher demo 2 years ago and have been meaning to pick this bad boy up. The Enhanced Edition makes it all the better deal. $13.59 for a good Western RPG is always worth the money.

I played Braid on console, but for those who haven't - $2.49 makes it a must buy. It's much more than a platformer - it's a puzzle game. Very pretty 2D - very artistic.

World of Goo is another must play game. $4.99 is pocket change for the best independent game ever. Another unique "puzzle" game.

It would be shameful to not play either Braid or Goo. Independent games that are dirt cheap and yet more enjoyable than most AAA-hyped industry titles.

Ok here is the list I'm trying for so far...
Stalker $1.99 (Definite Buy)
Far Cry 2 $9.99
Freedom Force vs. Third Reich $3.34
Outrun: Coast 2 Coast $2.49
Braid $2.49
Luxor 3 $.99
Whitcher $13.59

Would you suggest anything different in this list?

Add Mirror's Edge for $4.99

This gotta be good way to fight piracy. What loser you have to be to pirate game that costs less than 5$.

@STALKER: Clear Sky
Oops, this is embarrassing. Due to high demand we have temporarily run out of unique keys for this title. You may, by all means, purchase at the awesome sale price but may not be able to play until we receive more unique product keys. It shouldn't take too long, we have sent armed guards to the publisher's house to get them out of bed, drive them to their secret lair and produce more keys.

AT HD Effect at its finest!

I can't believe how they are able to sell (for example, GTA IV) at such a low price and still make a profit. How is it worth it? can anyone explain....

I mean sure they buy keys in bulk and no DvD and packaging to ship, but damn how low can you go.

BTW, I grabbed GTA IV. The servers are slammed, can't download it now so I just jumped to torrents and got it finished DL in 2 hours. Great price...

Also looking for MW2 to go down, but don't expect it soon because it just came out.

simply put, its 7.50 that they would not have had otherwise ...they are going after bargain hunters money

The Eidos pack is a steal, Batman Arkham Asylum sells for $50 by itself at best buy. Eidos pack has that plus the newest Thief game plus all the hitman games and a shit ton of others. I'll probably jump on that deal before it ends on Jan 3rd.

It's called price discrimination.

Believe me, I'm pissed that I purchased AA during Thanksgiving for $35. There are a lot of Eidos games that I have never played that I would like to, but I don't need Batman again. Could gift it, I guess.

I'm not sure if they allow gifting games that you already own (except special circumstances, such as with HL2). I think I've looked into it before and was unable to do so.

Valve Complete pack $75
Includes: Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Ricochet, Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Portal, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2

Think I'm gonna buy this for a friend. He wanted L4D2, so for $25 more then I initially was going to spend (at BB on the disc version) I can get him basically all the games I have.

Okay, I have now officially purchased too many games. As I Steam has been downloading The Witcher for the last 24 hours (94% done), I was searching through my game files and noticed, then realized - Crap! I bought The Witcher over Thanksgiving from D2D!

Nothing like waiting on a game to go on sale, then buying it twice - essentially paying the same amount as when it's not on sale. I'm a moron.

Well, I'm getting:

Defense Grid $2.50
Red Faction II $5
STALKER $2 (have the game, but $2 for the digital Steam version? No reason not to)
Oblivion deluxe GOTY $26.25 (Have Oblivion and Shivering Isles, but accidently sent disc back to Netflix so don't have it. Add in DL content, and why not)
The Witcher $13.59

Then for my friend I'm getting the Valve complete pack for $75 for his bday/xmas gift.

$124.29

You can send me the D2D one you got 🙂

I grabbed:

Braid
GTA 4
Grid Defense
The Witcher
Indigo Prophecy
Ghostbusters

~$35. I freaking LOVE digital distribution...

I'm learning to like Digital Distribution.. only when the price is good though. Most games if it comes to $39 at steam or $39 from store.. I'll get it from the store with a box so I can sell it in a few months and recoup some of my cash..

This will ruin any game purchases over the next year for me. I now have more games than I believe I can play through the next year.
