My daughter loves these games. I had set up my Steam account on her computer, but I think I will get her her own now and just get the games for her there. Too bad she will lose all the cloud saves that way.

Bought it for my daughters as well. They tried the original and loved it. I set them up with Steam and they have a decent little collection.

I bought it for her. She now has her own Steam account, although it only has those two games.

I looked at that as well and I wonder if it's better now? Some complained about the bugs, which could be fixed.

This isn't even that great of a deal, considering you can get a Steam key for $16 directly off the developer's site. (Although they seem to be out of stock at time of posting)

Literally everything I've heard about Postal 3 is absolutely terrible. It has no redeeming qualities. It's just... bad. Not "fun-bad" like Postal 2, but just plain "bad".

If you're bored and feeling delinquent, save a few bucks and buy Postal 2 instead. It's a bit dated now, and it's arguably a bad game, but it's a fun bad game. You can shoplift, shoot up a bank, urinate on people's faces, douse people in gasoline, light them on fire, and kick everyone to death... among other things. :p I admittedly played the shit out of the demo back in junior high. Now that I'm older and can finally buy things on my own without worrying about watchful parents, I gladly keep it in my collection.

I found Hoard to be a pretty fun little game. Unfortunately they changed the music in one of the updates and I don't think the new music is nearly as good as the old music. It would have been nice if they let you pick between the new and old music but they don't. Still it's a decent game.

How is Space Marine? I played Dawn of War 1 and 2 and found them both to be pretty average but enjoyable.

Space Marine is just plain fun imo. The entire time I played it I had a grin on my face. The combat is pretty satisfying. It was one of the few games I preorder last year and I was not disappointed at all and felt it was worth the $45 I paid.

There is a demo on Steam as well.

I've heard good things about this game, unfortunately due to my oversized game queue I'm going to wait it out. But it's a good deal.

Very repetitive, story and that stuff doesn't grab you and keep you, maybe 6 hours storyline gameplay.

Having said that, it really gives you a sense of what a Space Marine (and his squad) is all about and capable of. A human surgically and mentally altered, trained and conditioned to be the ultimate soldiers, proficient in a wide manner of weaponry in either CQB or at range, forged into combat with his battle brothers.

As far as 40k Lore goes, they got a lot of it right and made only a few things that only hardened 40k Veterans would notice. The Bolter feels extremely good and satisfying in your hands. It gives a reasonable feel of what it should be, a fast firing mini-rocket launcher (Bolter rounds are supposed to make contact with the enemy and penetrate slightly before detonating a split second later, typically breaching any armour and blasting out their squishy bits.

Being a large 40k fiction fan I enjoyed it and some of the things that irked me won't be noticed by non-40k fans.

I paid £15 (about $20-25) and I felt like I got just about enough for my money or I paid ~£2.50 per hour of gameplay.

$10 for a movie ticket to watch some disgusting slobber while sitting on seats with questionable substances on the floor for 2 hours, or $10 for 6 hours of interactive, mind numbing entertainment. Sounds like a bargain to me!

Steam seems to make a lot of errors in sales. Today, the 'game plus guide' combo is more than buying the game and the guide.

The $44 in DLC - all for multiplayer - is not on sale.

Heard good things about the game (bought it long ago but barely touched it), seems like a good deal.

The forum recommended the map DLC for multi-player to get games.

If you want to make comparisons, my most played game ever was a free game :p

But between your two choices, I'd pay $10 to see Ultramarines (WH40k direct-to-DVD release) at the cinema over $10 for Space Marine... :p

i bought a copy for myself yesterday of this.

I already knew the story was kinda lame and that it was short...
the killing is fun. As someone said, the game makes you feel like a space marine... so much CRUDE RAW SLAUGHTER. The feeling of every weapon feels good, they all feel powerful. The tiny pistol (which in fact is not tiny cause when you find a human you realize that the space marine size is huge), and the very first melee weapon slices orks like butter... and every weapon gets bigger and more awesome.

But its repetitive.

I bought it for the MP (cause a friend has it and convinced me to buy it) which i found to be very fun. It has what the SP lacked to be really good. It lets you unlock weapons, stylish stuff and perks for your 3 kind of space marines as you play. and the coop game mode to hold your ground against orks is fun AND HARD. played a couple TDM which were good although you could really notice that i was lvl 3 with a pistol against a lvl 41 with lasercannon sniper :S but i had a couple lvl 41 in my team too so it was kinda balanced.
it has CTF and 1 or 2 more modes...

i think the mp is worth the 10 bucks...and you get a fairly good sp campaign
