Steam Black Friday?

Damn, doesn't work with XP. May be time to move to Win7.

Another option is to move the game files from the "steamapps" folder to a backup folder on another hard drive. That'll free up space on your Steam drive. You won't be able to play those games but at least you'll have the files so you don't have to re-download them if you decide you want to play them again.

dang, I'm guessing sale will start tomorrow, or cyber monday at the latest.

in other news, Resident Evil 5 is on Impulse for $9.99 right now. worth it? good?

I'm not a great fan of these games, or anything, but I had tons of fun with RE4 on PS2/3, and enjoyed the original ones a bit. Also, is it a GFWL that will be too annoying to bother? I don't have much experience with that--received Dirt 2 free with my Vid card last year, tried playing it for 4 minutes, after dealing with GFWL, gave up.
lol.

Here we go..........

edit: agree with Tokie. Steam is getting hammered.

The deals are live on Steam right now.

Today's deals don't seem good at all.

Yea. The only one that's tempting me is Alpha Protocol, but I'm undecided. I bought the game at release on the 360 (for full price) and HATED it. I sold it and I recouped most of the price. I figure that $7.50 will make me think differently about the game.

Borderlands for $9.99...? I haven't played it, looks worthy of that price.

Looks like you have to hit refresh to see other deals they have going.

Impulse has a sale going too.

Notables:

Hearts of Iron III $8.99
Tropico III $7.49
Master of Orion $4.99
Dragon Age Origins $24.99
STALKER bundle $9.99
Total Annihilation $4.99

I just read the fine print on the wish list contest. It says you need to have at least 10 games on your list to qualify.

I initially only added 5 because there are only 5 things that I really want, so I had to go back and add a few more things to reach 10. Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone else did the same thing 🙂

Borderlands is GREAT fun, and I'm one of those who rabidly hates most console ports. You can't go wrong for $10. Pick it up.

you guys got your wish, lol

nothing on there too exciting for me.

I see Alpha protocol is on there for 7.50. that might be a decent price for it.

I almost bought it when it was $15 from Amazon, but:
- it's apparently a bug fest and not much fun to play
- there is no real patch (just a minor installation fix that adds new bugs) and there never will be a patch
- there are no modding tools so a volunteer / fan patch is unlikely

... so I'm playing Fallout New Vegas instead. I have enough other games in my unplayed stack that I'm going to skip Alpha Protocol even at $7.50

There was a patch released two days ago, plus the DRM has been removed. Although that may be the retail copy.
