Well you don't have to install them :p

And in Win7 (and I think vista and XP have other solutions) you can create file junctions to move games to other hard drives.

WinXP.

But, you're right, I don't have to install them, but I never know when I'm going to get an itch to play one and I hate to have to reinstall if I don't have to.

I think it's their Christmas sale that's big not BF.

I succinctly remember running to a Starbuck's last Thanksgiving in order to get the Steam Black Friday deals (was at wife's grandparents house and they don't have internet). They also had Saturday and Sunday deals, as well. Couldn't remember how soon they started the sale.

I thought their sale basically went from BF--> New Year's day, Jan 2nd.

I'm not ready for the Steam sales, I'm still backed up from last year.

This will help

Na, from looking at my personal purchase history. It appears their thanksgiving/black friday sale starts on Thanksgiving till monday.

The big holiday sale is for 10 days and goes from the Dec 23rd to the 1st.

That sounds about right.

Yes, I was out of town and on my laptop early Friday morning. So much money spent at Steam and Amazon.com last year.

Ugh tell me about it. I'm just getting back into PC gaming after a couple year break now that I've ordered a new laptop. I fully expect $100-$200 to go out the door to Steam before 2011. :colbert:

I was expecting them to launch a week long sale like last year today as well.

Hopefully we get one starting tomorrow.

Either way, it probably is a good thing, Steam doesn't need to rape my wallet anymore.

when they sell games that don't work, and their refund policy is "no refunds, ever" rape is a pretty good word for it.

They'd be pretty dumb not to have a BF sale.
I know they have Christmas sales, but they would miss out by not also having a BF one.
BF is pretty huge these year with the retailers, its going more and more mainstream.
Just look at all the newegg BF shit they send you everyday

It must suck to have no technical skills to fix problems. Every game I've gotten from them has worked. But continue fighting against the future.

Man oh man. I can't wait to see what they have. I'm going to lock up my credit and debit card so I don't spend any money on games that I don't have the time to play. Better yet, maybe I'll take a gaming vacation from work!

what the fuck? my tech skills are pretty damn good, thanks for asking. since i'm not a programmer, my options for fixing defective software are pretty limited. but i suppose you'll blame me for that anyway. that's fine. go on being a wise and beautiful woman.

edit:
i really wasn't expecting a fight with a highly motivated pro-active steam apologist. i'm done arguing, because there's only one way to win a fight with a true believer.

And since you haven't run into any problems, that must mean nobody should have any problems.

Personally, I haven't encountered any issues but even I know your statement was simply idiotic.

I don't think I can afford the harddrive space. Too many sales have eaten into too much of my space. Too bad Steam doesn't allow you to install games on more than one harddrive :(

I bought some 2TB monster to store Steam on, all's good now :)
