Thats it? A snowball fight? THATS FUCKING IT?

Do you know Oakland fans rape and murder when they win a game?
They just murder when they lose a game.

You must be watching a different video than the ones linked. The only snowballs not pelting the Niners fans are the ones falling apart from not being compacted to much.

He's talking about the whole stadium, not just that section.

in any cases, the attitude and culture of a sports venue is different in each town. in a place like philly or oakland, you don't wear the opposing teams jerseys. its not a smart thing to do. sure you can go and cheer but you'll get yelled at and hazed. there is a home field advantage for fans too.

Yeah, Philadelphia fans are badass

You missed my point. There were a lot more snowballs being thrown than the ones in the video. That was only one section of an entire stadium, the west endzone was half covered in snowballs.

The only way to look at this is assault. I am sure they were feeling all nice and cozy having hard, compacted snowballs hitting them in cold weather nonstop for over a minute. It could have been going on twice as long as someone had to take the time to grab their cellphone and start to record it.

Assault? Lighten up, Francis. The pussy factor on this board is amazing sometimes. Half the people posting in this thread probably don't even like football and are like 'oh I can't believe how discourteous those Philly people are, they should treat the visiting fans with proper respect'. This isn't supposed to be a family atmosphere, this isn't supposed to be a gentlemanly polite game. You grab your fucking balls and you go out there to win. Since they don't let us on the field, we battle it out with the other teams fans. Win, lose or another disappointing NFC championship defeat, it's our house and you better be prepared if you show up.

Now just imagine if it was Dallas instead of the 49ers....:)

Like someone else said, this is the same fan base that threw snowballs at santa. And remember they also cheered when Irvin had to be carted off the field.

lol, never seen that before. One of the guys is wearing a Devils jersey.

I'm not sure what team the jersey on the left is, but it's not the Devils.

I can't think of any NHL teams with letters down their sleeves; could be a high school/college/minor league/club team

It's Filthadelphia-- what do you expect? Nothing like watching the Pens play the Flyers in Philly and having constant cheers of "Fuck you Sid-ney." Philly people know they're among the stupidest and trashiest people in the world and their jealousy is just exemplified in everything they do.

Nothing like going to a school where about 50% of the student body is from eastern PA and walking around campus with a Steelers jersey on any given Sunday and getting harassed by a group of douches all wearing Eagles jerseys. Apparently they're too uneducated to have ever taken a geography class too.

I'm sorta surprised that you don't hear about more issues when you fill stadiums with drunk adrenaline crazed fans

Hah, nobody has a monopoly on dumbass douchebag fans, but Philly does seem to kick it up a notch or two.

We got nothin on the Euro soccer hooligans though, those people regularly beat or stomp one another to death if they're not knifing you in the eye.

doesn't matter if their snowballs or what, throwing anything at another person is just asking for a beat down.

Whoa there, someone's a little bitter. Not all Philly fans are complete douches like you think, though it's unfortunate that incidents like this occur and give us a bad rap.

However... there's a little thing called rivalry. Ever hear of it? It sometimes involves... wait for it... trash talking. Just sayin'.

trash talking is one thing, and pretty much expected, but come on, throwing stuff at people? that's too far. you don't know what people were hiding in those snowballs, how hard they packed em down. i agree that you shouldn't lump all eagles fans into one group because of this, but saying that it's ok because they're just throwing a snowball? ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not condoning what happened. I was just trying to stick up for the fans a bit since 2Xtreme21 seems a just a wee bit bitter. :p

awful - heckling is one thing but countless snowballs to head/face - sorriness
