Wow, that was a pretty d-bag response. It is completely unacceptable to pay for a sporting even then getting pelted with items.

I do tend to not liking generalize groups en masse, but in regards to Eagles fans they to have a propensity to being first rate assclowns. Not only because of this event but for so many numerous situations like this over many years.

Hell, if a jail needs to be built into the stadium, then that probably goes a long way in describing the so-called "fans."

As I said, we don't know what happened before the video started. If you already have this view of Eagles fans in general, it doesn't matter what the FACTS are, the Eagles fans will be "assclowns" and the other guys will be completely innocent.

We also don't know what happened after the video ended. Did the snowball-throwers get thrown out? They should have, but that's up to the stadium security.

That said, it was snowballs. I didn't see anyone on the video get hurt by them, did you? It's no different than screaming expletives during the game, or posting expletives like "d-bag" or "assclowns" right here on this forum. The point is to hurt someone's feelings, whether you're throwing words or snowballs. Seems like one is okay with you, but one isn't. Why is that?

Snowballs are not made out of cotton. They can hurt you when you get hit with them. People could put shit inside of them or they could be more like tightly packed ice balls.

Regardless of who started it, the continued pelting of the 49ers fans with snowballs was completely unjustified and reckless.

Except for the fan who paid for a ticket and had to be removed because of the immautre assholes that were pelting him w/ snowballs? Kind of a big deal for him....low class and pathetic imho

My guess is those fans got to watch the rest of the game in a suite.

Problem is, we don't know what happened before the video started.

And it was snowballs, for crying out loud. So a couple of people got moved to different seats, so what?

Sounds like more evidence of the pussification of America. "Oh, no...those mean people threw snowballs at us. Boo hoo."

um thats a ton of snowballs, thats pretty bad unless they earned it by being huge douchy fans like the ones behind me at the last cubs cards game I went to

Count yourself among the many fucking asshole eagles fans then.

I'm not sure if you were insulting or complimenting me. Either way...thanks!

stop wearing the opposing teams colors...its not that fucking difficult.

This. You do not come into Philly and wear bad guy colors. It's just a fact. They should consider themselves lucky they just got snow thrown at them. I didn't watch the posted vids but if they are the same ones I've seen the guys were standing up egging the people on so let's not paint them as innocent victims in all this.

In all honesty, yeah...these guys got snow thrown at them but 90% of what was going on was just people throwing snow in random directions or trying to hit the field. They cleaned the seats off but there was still a decent amount of snow down by your feet, the game was a blowout, this was inevitable. Nobody got hurt, whatever. No big deal, get over it.

Imagine you go to see a movie and 20 people are throwing popcorn at you for 2 minutes. Except it is buttered popcorn and it drips down your neck and makes your clothes wet with butter. Who cares what you did to them before, that is not an appropriate response.

This isn't really that bad but I do find it ridiculous how some fans act towards fans of the opposition. I usually talk to them, ask them how their trip was, what their thoughts are on the game, etc. We will usually talk back and forth (in fun) during the game but afterwards are more often than not out having a beer together.

I can't believe this ... seriously? Snowballs = words? Have you never been hit in the face with a snowball? Physical assault vs verbal assault.

Obviously, stadium security sucks but that isn't an excuse. Wearing an opposing team's jersey, I'd expect, and be prepared for the verbal assaults, and that would be part of the fun, but once I'm threatened by a physical assault that crosses a line.

Unbelievable that people could defend that.

I think I'd rather just not come to Philly if this attitude is universal. See my previous post about how fans of the opposing team should be treated. This is a fucking game. You're a fan. Nothing you do really matters so stop being an asshole.

They probably left. Im surprised they werent thrown out. My buddies have Eagles season tickets and at one game some dude had beer thrown on him (like a lot) and security came up to find out what was going on and all the Eagles fans just said he started it and the dude got thrown out when he did nothing.

Philly is a scary place to wear another teams colors.

You must be watching a different video than the ones linked. The only snowballs not pelting the Niners fans are the ones falling apart from not being compacted to much.

Nobody got hurt, whatever. No big deal, get over it.

The only way to look at this is assault. I am sure they were feeling all nice and cozy having hard, compacted snowballs hitting them in cold weather nonstop for over a minute. It could have been going on twice as long as someone had to take the time to grab their cellphone and start to record it.

I know that this is the quick and easy solution to the problem, but isn't it sad when someone cannot even go to a football game and cheer your team on without risk of injury?

Look at political rallies. People's fingers get bitten off. Thanks to a few mindlessly rabid idiots, an intellectual event gets turned into a vulgar brawl.

Of course, football was never really intellectual to start with...

my buddy, who lives in philly but is a lifelong niner's fan, went to the game. he said he started a snowball fight in his section cause he's an even bigger asshole than the eagles fans. he said it wasn't a big deal even though he got pwnd a bit.

in any cases, the attitude and culture of a sports venue is different in each town. in a place like philly or oakland, you don't wear the opposing teams jerseys. its not a smart thing to do. sure you can go and cheer but you'll get yelled at and hazed. there is a home field advantage for fans too.

When people pay to go to a sporting event they should not be subjected to this kind of thing. If it were to happen outside of the stadium that's fine because they can always just go somewhere else but in the stadium during the game... come on
