I think everyone is talking past each other and not listening and arguing against things no one has said.

On one side we have those that are saying the economy is doing better than it has done in the past.

On the other side we have people saying a lot of Americans aren’t feeling like things are better.

No one is saying everything is great and people should just accept it and nothing needs to be improved.

No one is saying the economy isn’t doing better.

Every fucking person in this thread agrees that things are better BUT we still have a long way to go to ensure Americans, in general, will feel better about the economy and where they are financially.

Everyone should agree that Biden highlighting his accomplishments AND talking about what still needs to be done to improve people’s lives is a good thing and considering that’s exactly what he did, we should all agree that his speech was good and necessary.

America has spent most of it's time on young women, especially feminism.....you need to rally males too....you can't be surprised when males are falling to Rogan, Cooney, etc.
 
Joe looked great last night. He just has to do that for another 213 days. Feeling positive today but I wouldn't count all the chickens yet.

Also there is a fundamental disagreement on how to approach this election, especially when trying to court people who are disillusioned and detached from this whole process.

Off to a good start for this campaign launch.

Time was spent getting females closer to the levels males enjoy. Nothing was taken from men except their ability to treat women like shit with impunity.

We were talking about a specific subset of voters and at one point I even said reaching out to people was good, just that there are certain subsets of people that would be a waste of time IMO. You refuse to understand that and refuse to let it go for whatever reason.

Nope. I specifically mentioned the subsets of people that I was reaching out to. They are exactly the voters that need to be reached out to.You specifically attacked them as all those things. One of the super important things to consider with the current economy: we have basically full employment and falling inflation, and there were improved safety nets supported - some have expired, but others remain or were improved (ie, fixing the rules of student loan repayment; also where >50% owe <$20k). The general view seems to be that to get inflation down any other way would be to increase economic misery and allow unemployment to rise (oh, the great times of 2008-2010).

If people signal that they are unhappy with the current situation by voting out Biden and putting Trump in office, there will be a huge uphill battle to get policies that were trickling into the mainstream during this administration (assuming there is even a semblance of democracy in place after a 2nd Trump term). Why stick your political neck out for policies that you don't get politically rewarded for?

Let’s bring back inheritance taxes.

It's always a mix and match and people are very fickle. Will all 83 million that voted for Joe last time vote for him this time? No.

The real question is how many votes will Trump lose from 74 million that voted for him? And I honestly don't see him losing many which is why I really think Trump can win even though I don't want him to.

Only the Gen Z abortion vote can save us who are not going to be swayed by the $18 big mac meal because it'll eventually cost $80 in their lifetime.

Whoever is spending $18 for a Big Mac meal is either a moron or lying. I live and work in some of the most expensive parts of NYC and that’s not a thing.

They're ordering fast food from DoorDash with its markup, then blaming Joe Biden.

The thing about a lot of these economic surveys or polls is that many people (esp middle class R voters) are saying their household finances are fine/stable/good, but the national economy is in the dumps. And they "trust" Trump will do better. 🙄

Funny thing, people spend a lot less of their income on food now than they did in the past but they eat out way more, which is of course a luxury expense.

In the not so distant past people in the US literally starved to death.
