Anime?????????? WEAK!

Anime is like any genre.... 90% is crap.

Some shows are actually very very good and would compare favorably with many classics you could name.

The saddest part of the lack of space scifi is that a handful of college kids working on their own computers can blow away the effects of a show from even 5 years ago. And they would work for beer and pizza.
