yea limiting privileges with mani is not hard at all. purchased admins can have separate permissions then your senior members. not really a huge deal but i think its potential.

Zombie mod with reload and 64 people will get me and a ton of others playing, guaranteed.

If you're going to run two servers, I suggest having a turbo/reverse-turbo + deathmatch gungame server. Good GG servers really bring in the people, and eventually you'll get a lot of regulars. Deathmatch gungames are even better, because they're harder to find. Eventually people in the GG server will trickle over to the regular server if you cross-advertise.

Hi again everyone,

Thanks for the awesome input. I'll be sending out some PMs to those that wanted to be admins. I'll be setting things up once my static IP is enabled, 5Mb is not the 20Mb but I don't have to pay $200 a month for that alone :) Either way I should be fine running two servers off that.

try to get hlstatsx and put that stuff on your website. If a server has a good ranking system/maps/ping then i will favorite them.

yes it is very hard to start a successful pub. there are just too many damn servers already and what would make people chose yours over anyone elses? I ran a pub for a while but only because I was the leader of my cs:s cal team and had to have one anyway for matches. The ONLY way to seed the server is to have it on Dust2 or Office ALL the time then tell everyone you know to pimp it for you. If my whole cal team joined we could fill a 20 person server during peak hours but that was with 8 or so people I told to join. When they weren't on sometimes a few people random people would join on their own but usually just to mess around like friends trying to 1 v 1 or something. Also, if you are serious about the server you will have to build a somewhat decent website with stats and a forum. That will help a lot. It's not really too difficult but still takes a lot of time for something that might not even work out. If you really want to run a game server it would probably be easier to do so for a newer game where people are more likely to test out dif servers to see which one they like. most people playing cs:s stick with the servers they already know because their friends play there and so forth.

Hey, if some of you guys are playing on this guys server, I'll jump on. I don't really have any loyalty to any servers right now, except for a zombie-mod server.

de_dust2
cs_office
de_nuke
de_cpl_mill
de_inferno

All good maps

But for the love of all that is fair and balanced, do not include:
AWPtec (de_aztec)
Campfest (de_dust)
Stackfest (cs_assault)

FINALLY got my static IP line setup PROPERLY. Thanks to Cablevision/Optimum Online. Never thought I'd actually say that. I'm quite disappointed with Verizon at this point as well.

$75 for 30/5, block of 5 IPs, and a reasonable tech staff. Compare that to Verizon 20/5 for $100 and only 1 static IP.

Now that is settled I will have the CSS server up by Wednesday, the people who volunteered to be admins will be receiving PMs some time tomorrow and we'll get the ball rolling. I plan on setting up the forums and website by Saturday/Sunday at the latest.

Thanks again to everyone who provided their feedback.
