5000 healing isn't too tough. Just get a bunch of marines/mauraders and 8 medivacs. Stim them like 4 times or until they are all red in health and you will get teh 5k healing in no time haha

true, I just thought it was great flying around healing my allies zerg units.

Been playing today from 4G and it's working surprisingly well. The latency is a little bit worse but as long as that's bearable then it's pretty playable.

Zero disconnects or periods of lag, just the latency.

I think bnet and wow maintenance occur at the same time.

yep, since they both use battle.net to some extent they are both taken down for maintenance. It's always fun to see the forums flood with people crying about maintenance as though the world is ending.

I personally like the marines. I grew up on legos as a child (parents wouldn't let me play video games, but bought me plenty of legos), so I appreciate the simplicity yet great resemblance of the approach.

need help,

my setup: e2140 @2.6ghz, radeon 4850, 3gb ram
1680 x1050
medium settings i get around 50-70fps on 1v1 small map start of the game

on big games 4v4, i go for like all low settings but same resolution, and i lag a lot when there's a lot of units. by lag i mean it goes to like 1-5 fps at some point
is that normal?
is it because of CPU?

also, even when i try the 1200(something) resolution its still the same.

That's really not bad at all. I have e8500 @3.8ghz ati 4770. 2gb ram, at 1900x1200. I use around medium settings and I never have a problem.

Are you sure it's not just battlenet lag? At the start of everygame I'll get like 1fps and then sometimes when a persons connection gets bad.

Since you tried the lower resolution and the problem persisted, it is most certainly the CPU. Also check your task manager performance tab while running these maps, most likely your CPU will be at 100 percent or near that while you're running the game. Maybe try higher overclock to see if it improves.

Remember that fps != lag. Lag may seem like low fps because the movement is choppy and things seem to jump around, but your video can still be updating at 60fps.

I don't know what exactly is causing that since your system sounds like it should be able to run at 1680x1050 on low settings for 4v4 w/o any issues.

Make sure you turn off/close any other programs when playing SC2. Maybe try defrag your HDD as well. If you can, OC more. How long has it been since a good reformat?

Ugh, I finally caved and picked it up today. Mainly just for single player and co-op games against the AI, I'm not much of a head-to-head kind of Starcraft player. I suck at multiplayer, which is probably a direct result of me just not enjoying that type of gameplay.

I recently finished the campaign on hard.

Campaign story is shit.
Campaign gameplay is good.

To anyone who has not started it yet, I would suggest playing it on hard. I started on hard due t hearing about how easy normal was, but decided to try normal to see what its like. Normal is slow, boring, and just seems so shitty.

Off to multiplayer. . . just after I research some build orders and strategies.
