Finally got my Kerrigan portrait :D

And somehow I got placed into a 2v2 plat league with a fairly noob buddy of mine. I reaper rushed all 5 of our opponents and luckily the last match was against two protoss. Reapered the first guy and killed 6 of his zealots and then systematically killed all his probes and main base. Second guy put up a huge effort (being much better than us) and nearly killed my buddy but we managed to beat him back seconds before he killed my friend's hatchery. It was gg after that pretty much.

And this is only 2 days after I got placed into bronze with another buddy who's easily better than the other. The wonders of learning the reaper rush lol

So all you do is reaper rush?

How boring.

What does your partner do? 6 pool?

;)

Reaper rush into MMM and then vikings/BC if it lasts that long. It's not boring at all though; I get a bit of an adrenaline rush every time I send them over the wall, not knowing whats above it. They're the best early unit in the game IMO though. Good to deny expansion and rush early as well.
And yes my partner IS zerg lol but he doesn't 6 pool, he builds up a bit like I do and goes in with me. 5 reapers is 10 times more effective than 2 or 3.

I completely disagree when dealing with protoss.

With protoss, send 2 reapers out ASAP, because likely he doesn't have a sentry or stalker out yet if he didn't scout correctly.

What is protoss gonna do against reapers if they don't have those units out?

That's right, nothing.

If you wait for 5, you've waited too long and they probably have ranged units by then.

EDIT: Repears (and all T1 terran units) are great against Protoss. Especially when you are coupled with zerg. When a lot of P players see Z, they'll have a tendency to either wall or go heavy on zealots to prevent a zergling rush. This just complements your reaper harass, since walls and zealots don't affect you.

What he's doing works because he's in a 2v2. In a 1v1 it won't work as well. If it works keep at it.

In Terran vs Terran, whats the best way to attack a base playing defense with a few siege tanks next to bunkers and missile turrets and while they are all on a higher ground?

It's a pretty common consensus the only viable strat in TvT is viking/tank. If he's playing defense in his base and not pushing out then it's a free win.

Expand a few times and that's game.

[edit] Also, high ground is irrelevant if you have air control because of tank range.

They just moved us to gold rank 2.

And the win was against a bronze team who double 6 pooled.....

Wow

Played another 10 or so matches

Last one was against another double 6 pool

This time I knew better and neither of us died...one of us went void ray and the other one went pheonix.

When we beat them, we went got up leagued against to plat rank 5 (now 4).

Another league up in 10 or so matches? Weird.

Woot... doing insane AI achievements ain't so hard. ;) (I did 1v2 insane AI, 1v3 very hard, 1v4 very hard, and 7 insane AI FFA) Most of those don't really matter though... I don't even bother with cooperative and some other AI achievements... no point to them. (No avatars/rewards besides points...)

What map and strat did you use for the 1v2 insane that you were doing last night?

Why is it so bad to play a few games in the wrong league? If you end up spending something like 3 weeks in the same league with 100's of games played and won, and you cannot face an appropriate challenge, then I could understand. Usually though, you still face people of appropriate challenge level even if you aren't in their league.

The Bronze/Silver/Gold/Plat/Diamond leagues are the large brackets of people of "equal" skill, inside of each league are divisions, and each player is placed in a division (randomly as they have space). Your "Rank" is your place in that division. So there could be 100's of #1 ranked players in the Silver league but they are all in different Divisions.

I do find it funny that I played 1 game last night and went from 24th in my Silver division to 30th in Gold, but I'm not complaining.

My friend and I got placed into Silver 2v2. We were only facing Diamond or Platinum level players for at least 4 out of the 7 games we played. We won the 3 vs higher level players. So I honestly don't know what is up lol.

The system is testing you to see if you should be moved up. It just takes a little because it might also be testing to see if your opponent should be moved down as well. So they might be a higher league player but they could be terrible and being dropped out of their division. The system overall just takes a little bit to figure out when to promote etc.

That's what happened to me in 1v1. I never played an opponent that was even or that I was favored against. A couple were better silver players and a couple of platinums/gold. It's nice only losing 8pts for a loss and then gaining 30 with a win.

Some lava 2v2 map and everyone is zerg... basically just do what this guy did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUfl89pgu2M

IT WILL NOT WORK MOST of the time... but once you get it... oh baby. For some reason the drones never attacked him, but everytime I put my fucking shit over there... they went, "EKEKEKEKEKEKEKKEEEKEK DIE MOTHERFUCKAAAH!!!"

I just kinda lucked out and finally got it after a few games. It's lovely when that happens.

Sorry I have an off-topic question but didn't want to create another SCII thread. Since the game's DRM is an online authentication, does it mean the disc can be copied for backups without any circumvention? I purchased the game and have a legit key, and have my copy tied to a Battle.net account but wanted to make a backup ISO and wondering if I can simply burn it using Nero or Imgburn.
