Cannoning zerg is almost pointless because of creep spreading and spine crawlers. Against protoss it can be effective because they have no siege units till collosus + thermal lance. But getting that cheese started with early stalkers makes it difficult. Tanks are relatively easy to get in a 1-1-1 opening and marauders can hold their own well against a rush. It's definitely a hassle, but you should have the economic advantage if you can break it.

Cannoning zerg is pretty effective. By which I mean throwing down two cannons at the bottom of their ramp to deny the fast expand (which almost every zerg tries to do, me included... I'm pretty bad at one-base play), and then transitioning into whatever (typically 4x warpgates). 2 cannons with 2-3 zealots is REALLY hard for a zerg to break, and he'll throw away a lot of units if he tries.

Creep takes a while to get to the ramp for the spine crawlers to burrow into, and the zealots give you vision to them if you need it.

Edit: You can see how effective it is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vm3Zb7vZbo

Check counters by going Lair -> Nydus, but Check is also one of the top Korean players, and most zerg would probably just lose.

Just have my first stalemate. We are both Terran. I have a few ground forces and a whole bunch of SCV's He has to command post's that are flying around. I have nothing that can attack the air and I lost my command post with no money left :(
so who gave up?

Did SC2 realize it was a stalemate? Or was it a question of who quit first?

Each mission allows you to change the difficulty before you start.

At least, that should be it. Someone let me know if that doesn't work. Original name, I know!

I now wish blizz had clan chat rooms or something would be so nice to just have us all in one group and ask who wanted tp play a game etc.

Supposedly the chat rooms are coming in a future patch.

They need a clan feature or a clan chatroom feature or something. Also they need to make parties able to be bigger than 4 people if that is the max. (I haven't gotten one more than 4 people so I don't know)

Nope SC2 doesn't recognize stalemates so it is however gives up first. I just queued my troops to follow his command centers automatically and went afk. He gave up after about 2 hours.

Hit #1 Platinum in my division today. I don't play very much (I think I've played 20 games total and didn't play in the beta).

High IQ + tons of normal SC experience has helped me quickly climb the ranks.

Will try to get into Diamond league this weekend.

Finally passed it. The last mission was pretty good. Now to wait another 5 years for the Zerg campaign.

I chose to knock out the air units so I had to deal with a crapload of worms spouting tons of swarms. I should have dealt with the worms instead and dealt with the air units.

why? just position a couple siege tanks so that they can hit within your base.

a few nydus worms that can be taken out while they're still sprouting is a CHEAP price to pay to completely knock out air so that you can focus ENTIRELY on land.
