I'd play it if it were an MMOFPS. I don't see how it could ever work out as a MMORPG considering there wasn't that much of a background to it as say WoW does, where every little thing has some backstory.

Also don't see how a MMORTS would ever work. At all.
 
10 bucks says they're announcing that Starcraft: Ghost is back in production... this will be followed by 6 years of delays and the eventual announcement that the game has been scrapped.

Recently, Vivendi gave a presentation to Wall Street. A lot of things were mentioned, but this announcement was a standout: "All Blizzard franchises will become MMOGs." And when they said all, they meant ALL! Along with the bold announcement, they also claim that they now have a model to come up with MMOGs in 3 years, and that they are also backed up by a $50 Million budget.

Everyone reported that, and everyone was wrong. The source for this was http://f13.net/?itemid=167 , not QJ. How can you trust anyone that doesnt even have a working about us link in their top banner? The person who sent it in? His name is the very professional "Shiznitz"

it seems odd for Vivendi not to give a Starcraft MMO to the company that started the franchise and outsold every other game of the same genre by millions.

Blizzard probably does not have the staff to handle two such massive projects (WoW and a StarCraft MMORTS) in Parallel. Also, Blizzard has outsourced before, ghost for example:

I think you are onto something there. Blizzard postpones ghost to reinvent it as an MMOFPS? PlanetSide already exists, so it has be shown that it is possible. We now have the exPlanetSide people, the starcraft fans, and WoW refugees that would otherwise go to other games paying a monthly fee still.... not a bad idea! Maybe merge it with RTS elements? Have a dedicated commander to coordiate the actions of the units in the MMOFPS (think commander in BF2, save much more complex) and the position could only be available to people that spend many months grinding ranks in the FPS part to "earn" the position, it could work!
 
I don't understand how any of you think that Diablo 3 will be announced on May 19th. It's already announced! It's named Hellgate: London, it's as close to a sequel to Diablo II will ever get. (Bill Roper, main man behind Diablo works on it).

Hellgate is a blood borther to Diablo, but it won't be a Diablo. And they've already stated that D3 is going to be a MMO, after the life cycle of WoW is done(2 years).

The Koreans have Starcraft as their pro sport. Everyone would buy it, and they'd probably buy a few more than just one each.

They're announcing it in Korea. It's obvious what series the game will be in...... I've been in South Korea for 5 months and all the PC gaming is involved with Starcraft, StarCraft, and Brood War.

I don't understand why some people still think it's a diablo game or even a warcraft game.
 
announcement should be around 12-2AM for us central time peeps. 1-3AM for eastern time, and so on and so forth.

i cant wait to see what it is........it HAS to be sc2.
 
There is no game yet, Blizzard is waiting to see which game generates the most buzz so they know what their next cash cow will be. Then they'll whip up some pos and laugh all the way to the bank.
