star wars died when lucas sold hte rights

If you don't like them you can just stay home and pretend they don't exist. Just pretend 6 was the last star wars movie ever made and fondle your star wars trilogy vhs tapes.

After Abrams' previous works many of us are already pretty good at ignoring entire timelines. Remastered TNG blu-rays make it easy.

Perhaps, but I'm detecting a distinct lack of Deep Space 9 blu-rays. :colbert: (They can keep Voyager on dvd, nobody wants that crap)

"I've heard from several sources the rewrites are positive, based on audience reaction to the new characters. People loved them. So strongly. And Lucasfilm was surprised at how well they were received, according to several sources."

This sounds bad. They should have already had a good idea where to go with the characters, how to develop the plot. Reacting to the audience shows a lack of vision.

When they don't have the skeleton of the first movie's plot to hang their meat on, and they don't have JJ keeping the train on the rails, this thing could get BAD. Like After Earth bad.

Good, nothing's worse than a big ass movie that's mediocre so since being awesome isn't really an option anymore they should bring on the bad.

I'm thinking yet another race in the vein of ewoks and gungans that will be hated by everyone over the age of twelve and loved by everyone else. If we could get the droid to give another thumbs up that would be sweet too. We're also going to need a big fat un-reveal from Snoke, and some hokey sexual tension from some of the younger cast. That should be a good start.

Or his Force Ghost will be in in IX...

Nah, he will turn to the Dark side and murder a bunch of people in the next episode, and the Daisy chick will fight him and then turn him back in episode 9, burning his corpse and providing the symbol for the singular hope and future of the galaxy. It's really the only story that Star Wars seems to tell.

I will take that bet.

Some think there is a possibility that an initial teaser will go live with release of rogue one, some other unofficial chatter seems to think it won't be coming until 1st quarter.
