This is what they all currently look like..

She looks great here, with a bunch of make up they could easily make her look as good as in the original

I love Harrison's expression though... "Alright lets get this over with I have better things to do with my time"

and spawns 10 little jedi bastards--half of them end up trying to kill him.

That's one thing I never understood about the prequel even if they were mostly shit.

They forbid the jedi's from having kids yet wouldn't the people strong in the force have more kids with that ability thus make it a win-win?

Guys might be right. Makeup plus beard could probably hide a lot of the fact that Skywalker looks like a guy with liver failure.

I assume these characters are more cameo parts; I cannot imagine for a moment that they will take these AARP actors and make them center pieces.

yup, because its not like they used Ian McDiarmid (1944): http://youtu.be/Pk4AiCnMqpg
and Christopher Lee (1922): http://youtu.be/BvnwLLXHabg

(oh yeah, Sam Jackson, 1948, was also in that first scene...)

my first thought when people are complaining about an old Luke, or an old Solo....well, Sir Alec Guinness played Obi Wan Kenobi, Christopher Lee was no less threatening as that Doodoo guy, Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin, etc

What, older people can't act?

No there weren't. Because that wasn't in any of the 6 movies I saw. So it didn't happen.

Agree with zin about how hilarious it will be when the EU fans don't get their way in these new movies.

Although Mark Hamill with a beard does look cool.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am tired of the EU fanboys wanting that shit included in the official canon. EU fans, I hate to break it to you, but the EU content is awful. Go ahead, pick up a Zahn book and read it 20 years after it was published and you'll be alarmed at how TERRIBLE it is. We liked them in the early 90s because that was the first bit of "new" Star Wars stuff released in 10 years.

I remember enjoying the first Zahn trilogy so a couple of years ago, I bought a couple of his later Star Wars books and was alarmed at how terrible they were. I couldn't even finish them. I need to find a few EU suckers to sell them to, I guess. Want a formula for writing an EU book? Here you go:

1. Gratuitously throw in lines from the movies at every possible opportunity. If I read Han saying "I have a bad feeling about this" one more time, I'll shove the book up the author's ass.
2. Everyone in the SW universe seems to grimace whenever they say something according to Zahn.
3. Need a new villain? Just make him a clone and better yet, throw in extra U's in his name. Remember Luuke Skywalker and Joruus C'boath?

Oh, and by the way, IIRC, Lucas already was pretty far along with Episode VII and I am sure they're going to use his basic treatment for the next trilogy. Do any of you EU fans SERIOUSLY think Lucas would recycle EU garbage?

For those that read the X-Wing series, I think a movie surrounding the characters from Rogue/Wraith Squadron would be solid. Wedge/Tycho/Corran/etc - some good material in there anyway.

Some of it - but not all of it. There are some very good books out there and you never know when they are going to kill off a semi-main character anymore

This. Most EU content could have the stupidity taken out in the conversion to a screenplay; ie the tendency to have Han always say "I have a bad feeling" that someone mentioned above. It's the overall story plot that matters. Star Wars movies need Thrawn, need the Vong, the Yevetha, Abeloth, Darth Caedus, etc.

The EU is simply trash some authors created to exploit Star Wars fans and bilk them of their money.

Keep in mind that LucasFilm approves every piece of EU trash. Which means someone under Lucas read it and put the bearded stamp of approval on it.

There is some good EU content. But for for every KoTOR or Thrawn trilogy, there's a lot of garbage. Emperor comes back to life multiple times, Species 8472 invades the galaxy, Ewoks, Palps has a kid with three eyes... I could go on. :\

I really enjoyed the Abeloth series. Talk about a lot of series references and bringing a lot of backstory mini-arcs together
