Star Wars Episode I: 3D. It sucks.

The Phantom Menace sucked in 2D ... what was anyone expecting? 3D was supposed to make crap look/smell better?

Meh, if done well it might have made the action scenes more engaging, more eye candy etc. I was hoping they had actually shot it in 3D back in the day but kept it 2D for technical reasons, in which case the 3D could have been awesome (imagine the light-sabers jumping out at you during the duel). But nope, just a shitty upconversion of a 2D movie.
 
My 10 year old son made me go. It was horrific as it was the 1st time.

I recently did this with the Blu-rays. Was actually fun to go through them all. I will likely skip Episodes 1 and 2 (definitely episode 2, what a piece of shit) the next time I go through the series.

might go see if they make it to episode IV, V and VI....not for 3d, just to see it in theaters, dont think i saw all of the special editions
 
I loved how they showed the orginal star wars in the trailer. They almost tricked my mom into going to see it in the theater thinking it would be the original star wars and not jar jar binks.

3D sucks, I don't like movies with it. I still check out the Best Buy 3D TV displays every time I'm in there just to reaffirm how fugging terrible they are.

What on earth gave you any idea that it might have possibly been shot in 3D in 1998?
