go and drink steaming hot white horse semen ... it will then dawn upon you!

speaking of drinking horse semen, the local morning radio shock jock got a couple people to do that to win green day tickets this morning. i don't think it was hot/steaming though

IIRC each species was supposed to represent a culture in the current known world.

White man = Federation = Utopia

Geordie LaForge, as white as they come!

😕

and the coveted ATOT Troll of the Day award goes to . . . . Yax!

(since it would be rude to imply that Yax is buying into victim culture to explain its own inadequacies)

This is just dumb. Star Trek is the least racist of any show evar! It showed aliens, white, blacks, blues, greens, everyone getting it on with Capt. Kirk as equals.
Fixed.

Yeah, it is true that they are all black. The actors that play them are all black too. Of course there's a reason behind that. What other Star Trek specie is exclusively played by a human race?

The Japanese, back when their l33t management skills were going to allow them to take over the world through mergers and aquisition rather than military might.

So... whats Gordie LaForge?

Honestly wtf are you talking about. Some of the main human characters in Star Trek are black.

Yeah, and Whoopi Goldberg said that as a child, seeing O'hura (sp?) on TOS was an inspiration to her as a child. She said nowhere else was there any black woman on tv that was treated with respect.

She said Star Trek's positive equality message was very important in her life and she wanted to show her love for Gene's vision by becoming part of the TNG cast.

Stop making generalities. Worf isn't thick headed rude or loud. He's also a Lt. Cmdr.😎

He is unqualified.
That is just affirmative action. 😉

I think he made a pretty decent chief of security. I sure wouldn't mess with him :Q

What did you guys think about the asian guy dating the white chick? I could of swore there was an episode about them and their relationship. 😕 Or was it O'Brien and his asian wife? Now I'm even more confused.

Uhhh... lets not get too intelligent or equal here.

Remember this is ATOT.

Racist? No, at least not the original Star Trek. Quite the opposite.

Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura in the original series, was the first black woman "featured in a major television series". She wanted to leave the series but stayed on because "Martin Luther King personally convinced her that her role was too important as a breakthrough to leave".

"Her role as Uhura on Star Trek was the first time that an African American actress was portrayed in a non-stereotypical role. Previously, African American female actresses were depicted as maids or housekeepers, and Nichols' role broke the stereotype barrier among African American actresses."

"In her role as Uhura, she participated in the first interracial kiss on US television, with William Shatner (Captain Kirk) in the 1968 Star Trek episode 'Plato's Stepchildren' ... the episode was not screened in some Southern states as a result of the protests in those states ... "
