I'm only getting 240KBps using the torrent. That's 10 freakin hours left on the initial install.

Got a couple of hours of game play in this afternoon. Extremely laggy due to the influx of new players from the 10,000++ open beta keys released yesterday. But extremely fun so far, just getting a couple quests past the tutorial. Much more time needed to make a real judgment, though, of course.

I would be playing right now, but they took the server down for maintenance for a couple hours.

I was really excited for this game and honestly I have enjoyed aspects of the beta however I just don't think this game is anywhere near finished. I do like where Cryptic is going with the game but I just feel it's lacking a lot of content and it's quite buggy for a game that is going live in just over 2 weeks. I'm a Star Trek fan and really wanted to LOVE this game but instead I walk away feeling it's just ok. I haven't been WOWED by anything ya know? I am very picky about the games I buy and putting 50 bucks into this game and not knowing where it is going to go is a bit much to ask of me. I'll keep an eye on it and see where the game is a few months after launch...:\

Many things not working (or maybe just not turned live yet), graphical glitches, load screens that you just get stuck on and you have to ctrl alt del out of the game....I can't really play for more than 30 min at a time without having to ctrl alt del out of the game and restart...

I played this morning, seemed to generally run good the game looked very trekky it is the same as every other mmo seems to lack challange and mystery. The space combat is an interesting addition though.

My personal favorite when it comes to bugs is when you beam onto another ship or onto a planet from your ship and for the first 10 seconds after you arrive, you appear as your ship instead of a person :D This is also happens the other way when you go from human form to ship form, you will appear as a person standing in deep space until the game corrects itself and you turn into a ship...

I've tried to play this the past two days but I see nothing but darkness. I'm having some sort of texture issue. I'll see a flash of the game here and there but mostly black comes shooting out as well as an orgy of other graphical glitchiness. It's hard to explain and I can't even really take a screenshot of it.

Sounds like a graphics driver issue...try updating your drivers or even just try another driver version and see if that makes a difference

Downloading now. Meh.. Another two hours atleast.

Tried to buy the "Collector's Edition" from Atari but it wouldn't let me so i had to settle for the deluxe edition. Let me just say that if this game SUCKS i will NEVER buy another star trek game again.

The ONLY good star trek game was the Voyager one years ago. Shit that might have been 10 years ago.

I downloaded from Fileplanet subscriber servers. I don't know how long it took, but those typically max out my interwebs connection (around 1.2mb/s).

Funny, I just re-installed ST Elite Force on my M90 and played for 30 minutes last night. I played a custom map (The Alamo) I haven't played in 5 years.

The memories ...

Cryptic Studios has unveiled the subscription plans for its February 2-due star trekkin' MMO Star Trek Online as well as discounted pre-order subscription offers including a $240 lifetime sub which grants an exclusive playable Liberated Borg race.

Any chance of me giving this game a shot is gone. I'm fine with paying for expansions and a monthly subscriber fee, but I will not play a game that wants people to pay extra for game-defining features like that.

Oh well.

I am really not interested. I hate MMO's with a violent passion. I dont care too much for the Star Trek Universe, though I do enjoy the movies. And Star Trek games in general have sucked ass.
I would need assloads of good comments from you guys in order to consider this.
