Maybe I'm weird, but I didn't mind the 1st one that much.
I liked it except for the fact that it was 40 minutes too long. It would have made a good episode of Star Trek, which I believe it was originally intended for.

It was supposed to be the pilot for "Phase II", but then Paramount decided to make it a feature-length film and... yea.

III was very good IMO. Good continuation after II. Christopher Lloyd as Kruge was the 2nd best star trek villain after Khan IMO (close tie with Christopher Plummer as Chang).

As far as DS9, my favorite character on that show by far was Garrick. Very interesting and mysterious, I loved his sarcastic tone and all the episodes surrounding him.

I recently re-watched III on Netflix and I gotta say it is pretty terrible.

I like IV with the Whales though *shrug*

Same here. I got into Star Trek when I was 12, and Star Trek IV was actually my favorite Star Trek movie at the time. I think that's why I like it so much. If I were to watch it now for the first time, then probably not so much.

And, of course, Star Trek II > *

You put V in front of III, I, & IV?!!!!!

Did you even see V? That movie is a fucking travesity.

I have to agree. For the first 6, I'd have to go with (best to worst):

II, VI, IV, III, I, V

I might be willing to swap I and III depending on how I'm feeling that day, but neither was anything to write home about.

I see no one has mentioned Nemesis. Definitely the worst even-numbered Star Trek movie.

I liked III and I actually liked IX (Insurrection) even though neither was really that great or popular. And I didn't like IV originally but it has grown on me as I've gotten older.

Christopher Lloyd is the best Klingon in any of the movies- too bad they never brought him back in any of the series.

Well, I'm not a traditional trekkie and I don't care. Most of the old cast star trek movies are tedious at best. Wrath of Khan was good, as was the one with conspiracy (6 i think)

But....and I know I will get flamed for this....the original series sucked. Cheesy rubbish.

TNG was awesome from season 3 onwards. DS9 had some great episodes but also some god awful tedious story lines. I actually prefered DS9 stand-alone eps like the one where O'Brien is in a mind-prison for 20 years or where Jake spends his entire life trying to save his father (possibly my fav trek episode). Voyager took the safe road throughout the entire series and was meh. Watchable in a popcorn type of way. Enterprise was just a wasted show.

^^^ Very much this.

Although I give DS9 a higher rating overall.

I can't recall most of it. damn you to hell, now I'm going to have to find it and watch it, and it will probably end up sucking really bad.

I do remember liking II though.
