Star Trek III

Ok, it's an odd numbered Trek, but you know what. This movie breaks the mold of odd numbered Treks, and frankly the part of the movie from when Kirk and Sulu bust McCoy out of jail till the Enterprise leaving Excelsior in it's dust is one of my favorite sequences in movie history.

Star Trek III totally underrated!

It's probably the best of the odd numbered Treks, but it still sucks.

This man speaks the truth. The first part of the movie showed promise, but it drags really badly in the middle, and the end was unsatisfying, even if spock did come back.

How many points do I loose for not really liking ANY of the original cast movies or the original series? It's TNG and DS9 for me.

A shitload. You are required to like II even if you like no other scifi whatsoever.

Wrong Saavik. Nuff said.

That being said, still saw it at the theatre, like all the Star Trek TOS movies. Never saw a STTNG movie at the cinema.

Some points since #2 with the return of Khan was a winner and generally even most fans who prefer TNG acknowledge it's a good one..

Well I guess I was exaggerating a bit. I was talking mostly about the old series. I don't really love any of the ST movies old or new cast but I don't really hate them either. II probably is the best I'll give you that.

As long as Sisko, Bashir and Worf are not in it.

Episodes that focused too much on Bashir were annoying I agree but I otherwise disagree and find him to be an important central character. Worf, meh I could have done without him true but he didn't bother me all that much. Sisko, he grew on me as the show progressed, not the best of actors though. The Odo, Quark friendship (or enemies if you want) is one of the best sci-fi character dynamics I've seen though. Oh and they can leave out Ezri Dax, give me the original yumm.

yeah, jadzia > ezri.

i really liked sisko though. once he grew that goatee, he was a badass 😀

First Contact started out good, but once they got to Earth with Zefram Cochrane, it quickly got stupid. Why did they have to portray him as a drunk useless idiot?

Someone once said, "Don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make its own judgments."

Do you think every major character in history was flawless?
