I'm going to... uh... I'm going to have to try this.

That's it. I'm going to try HoloXPLOR next time I log in. Holotable can burn. ;)

Oh dear god. Park that thing right outside a battle zone or swarm, and have a ship or two to provide an aggressive wide-perimeter security buffer. win.

Once they finally fix ESP for Decoupled, I'm going to be very excited about fighting more with my Connie.

I'm really bummed. Since I got my stents removed from my nose (surgery) and got off the pain meds Tuesday, I've been playing a lot of BR. I had some really good matches that I was proud of (top 3 in BR with really good players) as well as a few matches of Cooperative Vanduul Swarm and team matches..

I was going to put together a highlight reel of kills, and when I checked all my vids, no sound was recorded. It was working fine before and for w/e reason no sound now. I'm bummed because I have some awesome footage.

yea, it's pretty bad. I only have one ship and have been ok with it as is. But it's pretty frustrating. If I get more stuff I'll try the HoloXPLOR. It'd be wonderful if it could be more integrated via an API or something.

I'm happy for CIG. I'm sure the TWC commercial is bringing with it some sort of benefit, whether that's actual money or free advertising.

But I'm also concerned. Commercialization of a product is a slippery slope. If TWC advertisements start showing up in ArcCorp, I'm going to be pissed.

Question about gameplay. Are big ships like the connie going to be able to be resupplied by other ships? Eventually all that ammo would run out, right? Can ammo be transported and delivered like other cargo?

What are you using to record? I've been using ShadowPlay, but for some reason it gets bugged after awhile and stops saving to the disk (the little green indicator shows the "down" arrow, but then doesn't turn off).

Better yet, what if they integrate TWC into the lore. Imagine a star system that 'twc' conquered and we have planets named after them.

I can imagine STLYoungBlood's video about it already =)

Shadowplay. It's been working just fine for me up until 2 nights ago.

Considering CIG have already stated that .xml is being phased out, I'm not sure HoloXPLOR is going to have a long shelf life.

This is yet another case of: CIG knows there is a problem. They're working on it. We have to be patient.

I really hope we can keep some ammo boxes in the cargo area or sitting around. After a battle you take them with grabby hands and EVA to rearm. Yes, please, and thank you.

No issues with Shadowplay here. Just yesterday I got a solid (no crashes even) 2.5 hour recording in Crusader. Sound et al worked fine the entire time. I'm thinking about pushing and making some ship videos and try to add to the community a bit.

Yeah, it's probably on the way out, but I think it might be worth using until that point.

One of the recent dev posts said that fixing the holotable was not really a priority right now, so we may be stuck with it for quite a bit longer.

Think how much it will suck if they do away with XML and store server side before we get a holotable replacement. *shudder*

I found out that if I set my pedals as "combined pedals" from Logitech Gaming Software (so that both pedals are seen together as one axis) and then assign Strafe Up/Down to them, I have analog control.

It is much better for controlling the ship, but I have a problem: in Decoupled Mode I lose control of yaw and roll (meaning that moving the mouse left/right or pressing "A" and "D" keys has no effect) and in Landing Mode, when above the landing pad (when the square on the radar turns green), I lose roll control.

Because of that, I reverted to the digital setup (one pedal produces keystroke "R" and the other produces keystroke "F" when fully pressed), were I only have On/Off control over vertical thrusters.

Even with this configuration, sometimes it does not work as it should: for instance, a few times Strafe Up and Strafe Down were reversed. Alt-Tabing out of the game and then back to it usually fixes this problem.

Is there a reason you're combining them instead of treating them as different axis and assigning Strafe Up and Strafe Down to each separately (what I did back when I strafed with pedals)?

That would be the preferred mode, but I could not make them work in this configuration (only as digital switches: On/Off). Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I do not know what. Or maybe it is not possible to use such a setup with my pedals (which are the accelerator and brake pedals from a Logitech steering wheel, not rudder pedals).

For instance, in the default configuration from Logitech software and from Star Citizen, accelerator pedal is recognized as throttle by Star Citizen game. Brake pedal is recognized as roll control, but zero position is half-pressed, so not very usable like this. The steering wheel is recognized as yaw.

Since I have yaw and pitch assigned to my mouse and roll is easy with A and D keys, I want one of strafe directions assigned to the pedals. Strafe Up/Down is the most important strafe direction for me.

Hmm, planet "Comcast"... :hmm:

Dear God, I hope not. D:

Someone in customs must be a space sim fan. ;)

I identified the causes of my problems with pedal configuration.

I had two different problems:

---
1. If I do not use "report pedals as combined axis" setting in Logitech software (so if each pedal is independent) and then in Star Citizen (Options-Keybinding-Joystick-Advanced Controls Customization -FLIGHT-MOVEMENT) I set one pedal as Strafe Up and the other as Strafe Down, it does not seem to work.

In fact it works, but in an unexpected way: control for each pedal is reversed. The vertical thrusters are off when both pedals are pressed down and the vertical thrusters are going at full power when the pedals are released (my pedals are not rudder pedals, but accelerator and brake pedals from a steering wheel). Because of this, initially I could not understand what was happening.

I found that there is another setting, in a different menu: Options-Control Options-Joystick-Inversion Settings-FLIGHT STRAFE (UP/DOWN) and have to set this to YES for my pedals to work correctly.

This way I can use the pedals for Strafe Up/Down even when I set them as separate axes (from Logitech software).

This was a minor problem, because even before I found the solution, I was able to use the pedals in analog mode by setting them as "combined axis mode" in Logitech software.

---
2. The second problem was more important to solve, because it was forcing me to use the pedals in digital mode.

If using pedals in analog mode, in Landing Mode, when above the landing pad I was losing roll control. Also, in Decoupled Mode I no longer had control over yaw and roll.

The cause of this problem was that there are separate controls for pitch, yaw, roll, strafe up/down, strafe left/right and strafe forward/back when you are in Decoupled Mode and some of these had the default assignments. I unbind all unused and set Decoupled Strafe Up and Decoupled Strafe Down to be the same pedals as Strafe Up and Strafe Down, respectively.
