I doubt this game live up to its expectation which is massive because Elite Dangerous sure didn't.

And how on earth can ED be only 5.5 gb download while this game can be easily over 100GB? And both games are $60?
Are you trolling? The reason for game size differences should smack you in the face if you've played both.

And elite wasn't a full game on release. And apparently now it won't ever be unless I hand out $45-60 per "expansion" in addition to the $150 or so I originally dropped. Which wouldn't be a problem except the game delivered disappointed me as it was essentially a trucker sim.

Who knows, I'm in the same boat I want too upgrade my Aurora but I'm still hesitant.
The promise does look beautiful though.

Keep your Aurora. Earn your other ships in-game. That's my plan!

I have ship wish list which, at the moment, is:

1) Drake Herald
2) Freelancer DUR
3) One of the Hulls
4) Retaliator with cargo modules
5) Reliant

All subject to change of course. But the Drake Herald is so damn ugly, I want one (plus I like the idea of being an information broker).

Is that Aurora with LTI? Because if so definitely don't melt it for something else. If you're dying for a different ship wait the CCU comes available for it so you can upgrade and keep the LTI.

It's not a huge deal either way, but if you got it no reason to lose it.

I'm having to keep myself restrained from buying a Carrack and Retaliator right now. I have the Constellation Aquila and Mustang Gamma, so those will probably be good enough to earn what I want in game.

So tempting, though.

A lot of ED (stellar objects) is procedurally generated so they don't require localized textures or models.

To me, the best part of the presentation was the social module demo. I'm just really psyched for that. When the dude was walking to Dumpers Depot and the Aurora passed overhead....wow. Such a simple thing, but so damn cool.

I had the same reaction when that Aurora passed overhead. It's details like this that make the environment feel alive. I'm quite stoked for the Social Module release, as I'm tired of just walking around my hangar. 😉

Just looking at the latest Star Marine update. Weapons modeling is looking pretty nice.

The Connies are supposedly extremely flexible so chances are good you can get your Aquila to do whatever you want it to.

That was why I bought it. I love exploring, so the exploration Connie is where it's at for me, but I can use it for a lot more.

In ED most of my money has been from exploring in my Adder.

I know this is an odd question, but does anyone know if different environments will have different amounts of gravity? And will those different gravity amounts impact gameplay (like bullet drop on ballistic weapons, fuel consumption, etc.)?

Arc Corp appeared to have the same gravity as Earth (call it standard?) and that got me thinking about other worlds....

Good question, I haven't heard of different gravity worlds that I can recall. But it would be interesting to have some heavy gravity worlds and some light gravity worlds.

I don't remember reading anything about varying gravity levels on different worlds (but that doesn't mean they haven't mentioned it) but they absolutely said that gravity (zero G vs 1.0 at least) will affect game play.

All right AT Ballers its time to list our ships.
I have:
Cutlass Black, I'm thinking this is good for boarding
MISC Freelancer for trading or exploration. I'm not so sure I'm going to keep this one I may upgrade to something else. I'm slightly concerned I don't have a good fighting ship.

Here is the link for anyone who wants to join us. Please put your SC name in this thread so we can approve.

How do I tell if I have LTI? I'm an original Kickstarter backer but I don't see any indicators on my ship browsing the site hangar.

Oh god... listing my ships (I will probably forget one or two):
Stealth Hornet
Super Hornet
Cutlass Blue
Freelancer MIS
Phoenix
Vanguard
Retaliator
Reclaimer
Caterpillar
Merchantmant
Redeemer
Starfarer
350R
Gladiator
Khartu
M50

....

Yeah I got a little carried away.

If you click on the ship in your hanger on the website to get the detailed information, it should list what is included in the purchase/package, and one of the items listed will be the insurance.

Origin 315p

I'm an explorer at heart. This looked like a good entry.

I have too many (but I do trade them on reddit):

890 Jump
...

Really looking forward to seeing the model released on this one. I'm hoping it can be outfitted for more of an exploration role (although it appears to be well suited to it as-is with the current specs....luxury exploring? 😉 ). I'll be all over working towards one if that ends up being the case.

I've got an Aurora LN. But don't let the LN fool ya....I'm a runner, not a fighter. Soon as we go live, I'm selling the missiles and whisker guns for larger shields and bigger thrusters......

In hindsight, I should have bought a CL....

<3

When was the Vanguard available for purchase? I'm super kicking myself for not switching my Hornet F7C out to the F7C-M so my friend could gun for me. What's the best bang for a buck ship for someone who isn't really into the actual flight sim fighting aspect? Probably merchant or exploration but not too expensive.
