"I used to think what I did was not very important," he told the Chicago Tribune in April 2014. "People are building bridges and engaging in medical research, and here I was doing stories about fictional people who do extraordinary, crazy things and wear costumes. But I suppose I have come to realize that entertainment is not easily dismissed."

So long and thanks for all the fish!

I think shorty's misinterpreting that... it's a tribute, not a slap.

Either way, it's a sad day for pop culture. Stan Lee had a long life and many memorable achievements.

I definitely misunderstood it and am sorry for the mistake
RIP Mr. Lee, on top of just entertaining the hell out of people, you also helped people learn/want to read.

RIP. I'm really curious now as to what happens with his estate--wasn't there some weird stuff between his lawyer and estranged daughter about where his money had gone?

Almost one year to the day after Joan, his wife of 69 years died.

Guy just didn't want to hang around anymore.
