A note on Imo's and other St. Louis style thin-crust pizza. If you're from the area you may like it. If not, it will most likely be somewhat vile to you (flashing back to Cecil Whitakers).
This from a NY pizza snob, though.
From the now defunct Low Bullsht guide to St. Louis web page.
Speaking of Italian food, I need to mention that classic pseudo-Italian food, pizza, because if you're not from here, you won't believe the crap that St. Louisans eat. St. Louis Style pizza is usually called by its many detractors "Velveeta on a cracker." I think that's unfair to both Velveeta and to crackers.
Honestly though, there are good Italian eats to be had on "the Hill". Pretty cheap and pretty good. I like Cunetto's. Favazza's was decent as well.
For after-game burgers and a brew, try to find a place called O'Connells. Best burgers I've ever had. I think its at the entrance to the hill.
Otherwise? The arch should be done once, the zoo is free, and Forest Park is a big park. And "the Loop" is like 3 blocks of Greenich Village transplanted into St. Louis. I think thats where Blueberry Hill is. And thats right near where I lived for a couple of years!
And out of respect to living in the area for a couple of years...
M-I-Z!
