Just tested my DSL from Bellatlantic

** Speed 479(down)/68(up) kbps **
(At least 9 times faster than a 56k modem)
Finish.

I can't wait for my Optimun Online package to arrive.

well....i finally got my earthlink DSL hooked up last week and configured my linksys router..no probs yet...at all...$40/month...and i'm getting a $200 rebate from covad. the weird thing is that earthlink is supposed to provide 1.5mbps down and 384kbps up...and i went to a few sites to test my speed and a couple have reported my connection speed at over 1.5...sometime almost 3mbps...is that possible?? can anyone provide me with a site where i can test my speed accurately??? i've tried dslreports.com, speed411.com, and a couple of others...

Who the hell is getting 5mbps on cable modem! I have cable modem and get about 300kbps if I am lucky. You are just bullshitting.

argh, so many people in this thread confused with bits and bytes. gives me a headache. :p

8bits = 1byte

broadband is measured in megabits, not megabytes

Sprint Broadband Direct - Wireless Internet

DSL Speeds, No Wires = Wireless via directional microwave dish, Decent prices... just needs to be available in your area. Good Luck!

Hard to get info if it's not available in your area, speeds are estimated at 1Mb Down, <256Kb up. Latency (115ms) is better than sat systems (even the new 2way sats). Unfortunately, it's not available in my area, but, maybe in a few months...
