Naw, some people have medical reasons, such as thyroid problems.

Anyways, what supplements? ECA (ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin) stuff? But the 'keto' or CKD diet is a good diet. It's very similar to the Atkin's low-carb diet, except for 2 days a week, you 'carb' out and pig out on all the carbs you want. This helps with some of the cravings, but still keeps your body in ketosis so it continues to burn fat for fuel... but also helps build up muscles lost during the week while you were low-carbing. Great diet, and is all the rage within the bodybuilding community. And no, it doesn't mean it's only for bodybuilders.

Hmmm... I'd tried Atkins before and thought I was going to die on it so I gave it up,perhaps this CKD diet might be a bit different?

I've really come a long way in the past 18 months, now it's like I'm just stuck with the needle on the scale refusing to budge lower.

Well, I'm finally wearing size Large shirts now. I used to have to wear XL or even XXL in some cases. I'm down a total of 47 pounds. I have tons and tons of nice shirts that I can no longer wear. I think they are all going to ebay.

Damn, I was fat as fvck. :p

Have you tried or thought of trying the Atkin's diet? Or an alternative of it like the Keto diet (also known as CKD and TKD diets)? Keto diet information.

Anyways, personally for me i don't normally change my eating habits, but my activity. I bought a new mountainbike for this summer, and still go to the gym regularly. Will probably take up another martial arts as well... i came close to a 6-pack last summer (4-pack!), and am determine to have one this summer.

Personally I'm thinking of either trying supplements or having my jaw wired, I'm 5 ft nine and my current weight of 137 is way too much. No non pregnant woman has any reasonable excuse to weigh anything more than 125 pounds and that high range is only allowable if she has huge tits. I had a bit of surgery last week and since then have really only had the energy to go to work,I just basically sleep and eat after work.Hopefully I'll feel more recovered this week and better able to exercise.

Geekbabe, I don't know what your body type is, but my wife's 5'8 and in the best shape of her life she never weighed less than 130. She is very muscular, but her healthy body weight is somewhere between 135 and 140. Anything less than 130 wouldn't be good for her. Are you sure 125 is right for you? As you run and lift, you're going to be putting on muscle mass. Your muscle is going to weigh more than fat. Have you talked to a doctor?

The average fashion model stands 5 foot 11 inches and weighs 117 pound with a size C cup bra.. that is the gold standard for women. I'll more than likely never reach that bar but that doesn't mean I will not continue to strive for it.

Why sarcasm? I happen to agree with the current trends on what constitues an attractive woman in our society and I wish to try to get as close to that ideal as I can.I don't consider that a problem.

Hmm...my sarcasm detector scan was inconclusive on that one.

Assuming you were being serious; don't you think the gold standard for women is rather unreasonable?

It's not a problem, but all they do is exercise and consult nutritionists when they're not shooting. And is it healthy? I mean, for the average woman, who is not a fashion model, who does not have money to spend on health professionals, is it healthy to strive for that weight?

Right, but the flip side of that is that the bar is set so high that most people won't ever get within shouting distance of it.....hence we have 8 year-old girls with eating disorders. There's nothing wrong with buckling down and kicking some ass on an exercise program, but there's also nothing wrong with acceptance of not having a perfect body provided you're not obese or something else that's a health issue.

It seems to me that the biggest "eating disorder" most American Women suffer from is overeating

I don't weigh even close to 125 lbs, but I look damn good. Its all about how you look and feel, not some magic number on the scale. I don't want to be some skinny string bean, I like the fact that I could kick a mans ass if need be. ;) But seriously, why feed into the medias perception of whats hot, and what everyone should be? I don't want to be some skinny girl with my ribs sticking out, I like the fact that I have curves to show off. I don't need to be a clothing hanger to feel good about myself, and neither should you lady, you are beautiful.

but the point is that she is talking about herself. if she is educated enough and has the capacity to do it from a healthy standpoint, what's the big deal? this discussion isn't about society in general, it's about what she thinks is good for her....

me too but I'm weak and gave into my cravings, I'm never going to get down to 120 pounds at this rate.

I think you meant to type "gold standard". <---- note quotes added for sarcasm.

No, it's what's considered beautiful, those women obviously have discipline and drive enough to push themselves away from the table and to exercise hardcore.I've just decided to stop making uo bullshiat excuses for myself and to make a real effort for a change.Am making arrangements now to pick up my new bike:)

And overeating.

Good luck to you, Baff. If you think you can do it, all the more power to you.

doing it for your health is one thing. doing it to fit the medias mold of whats in, is another.
