Hey guys i just got a mild sprain on my ankle. What are good strengthing exercises can i do to help my ankle stronger?

I always thought sprains were the result of an over-stretched ankle. In my world of recreational basketball, people get them when landing on someone else's foot. Ankle flexibility may help. So stretches all around?

The hard part is knowing if it's actually a sprained ankle or not. Where is your injury located on your ankle? Which foot is it? Which side is the pain on? Is it on the top or back of your foot? Sides? It can be a lot of things, not necessarily an ankle sprain. There are a lot of things you can do, many of which include necessary re-training of your ankle's ability to know where it is in space (proprioception). Overall, it could be something different or it could be a simple ankle sprain. The exercises, however, change depending on what/where it is.
