I will make it as obvious as possible...
It was foretold verbatim in Matrix: Reloaded - In Neo's meeting with the Architect, the purpose of The One and the matrix itself was described to Neo. Neo was the anomoly designed to balance the equasion of the imperfect world, and at the end and to save Zion and the matrix Neo would return to the matrix and disseminate his information for the next matrix, and be allowed to rebuild Zion.
Neo did exactly this, as was his purpose. He did return to the matrix, he did save Zion, and he did save the matrix itself, just as was described of his purpose by the Architect. However, there was a twist in Revolutions pointed out at the end by the Oracle - she changed the rules a bit to accomplish something else, the freedom of some of the captive programs and people that didn't want to be there.
It is obvious that the cycle will continue in some form, or at least the matrix will, by the statements at the end. The little girl asks if they would see Neo again, to with the Oracle alludes to a yes -- sometime in the future. I prelude to the next matrix cycle happening as it had in the past.
My only questions I need to ask however, is what was the "angelic" visage (Neo's view) we saw at the end as Neo was being carted away by the machines? Were we looking at Neo or through Neo's eyes? And if the latter, what were we looking at? I assume Neo is indeed dead, because Smith was actually Neo, and to kill Smith Neo himself had to die. So it looked like Neo was an angel.
Oh well, decent movie, but I don't see any setup for anymore sequels as people have alluded to.
