Yeah...and they're in and out of their seats/crash couches whenever they need...with no obvious attachments to the system
Exactly.
while we are bagging on the expanse. when the ships got stopped by the gate the premise that zero-g was deadly for simple cases of bleeding was a bit off. blood pooling on a skin wound preventing drying and proper coagulation because it doesnt drain away from lack of gravity doesnt really fly in the face of current medical tools. suction pumps and capillary action from gauze will pull pooled blood away from the wound. hell, a styptic pen or powder will generally stop bleeds in a few seconds.
No idea.

Don't know much about such things WITH gravity: much less WITHOUT it ...

Wasn't he referring to INTERNAL bleeding, only?

"there's nothing you can do for these people except ease their pain."
"what are you talking about? staples and sutures are all these injuries need."
"is this your first time in zero g? ... without gravity wounds cant drain. blood pools and clots ... tissues swell ... any internal bleeding is a death sentence."

the internal bleeding bit is a flourish at the end to dramatically punctuate, but 'sutures and staples' indicate they are talking about epidermal cuts/punctures.

internal bleeds dont "drain" in gravity to begin with. they swell because there isnt anywhere(external hole or wound) else to go. minor bleeds will go into interstitial fluid and come out the lymphatic system. the cuts needing draining is only if the amount flowing is so much that the clotting factors in the blood get swept away before they can attach to the wound edge and form a mesh to plug up the opening. simple electro-cautery will stop the gushers, so all you need is to close the skin to keep stuff in and germs out (cyanoacrylate was more or less purposed to close wounds in the vietnam war) .
