And its ability to work on any ATX system , dixit AMD, wich means that its cooling wich blow hot air only out of the case is fully compatible with an ATX form factor that has no fans for case cooling, wich is not true for competing products as well as for open coolers of all kind.

While the noise factor is overhyped...

Please do not defend AMD with their terrible reference cooling, we have suffered since the 4800 series. Yes, it blows air out the case, so what, people who folk out THAT MUCH $$ for GPUs should know to put a few fans in their case for airflow. It's not an excuse for a poor effort for so long.

I fully expect their next cards on 20nm will be heaps better on the reference cooling.

Edit: For clarification, its not the noise I have a problem with, previous reference cards were already noisy for those who mind.. its the 95C on the R290/X, that kind of temp causes massive power leakage, causing efficiency to tank unnecessarily. That is the problem.

I m not defending their design but rather than just doing rants
i prefer to find the design guidelines of AMD s engineers , one
cant understimate thoses guys that s why i m doing those
remarks , just to point that they did technical choices that
are not irrational at all when looking deeper on the subject.

Your post length is perfect , you should stick with this format.

You have a bad card. Neither of my Titans exhibited that kind of behavior. At 55% my Titans were quieter than my current 290s.

Nah, it's not louder than other Titans at that RPMs. Still, it's a bad card because of coil noise :(, fortunately it's only present at P1 clocks(idle clocks)so kboost fixes that problem, at the cost of idle power consumption. Before the Titan I had 2x7970CF and they were way louder than my Titan at 60% and probably louder then at 65%. They also had ridiculous coil noise. I just couldn't stand them even with my headphones. Also I find 55% fine, it's 60% and over that is too loud, fortunately I don't need to turn the fan over 55%.
ps. to be clear, I checked it with a sound meter

Whoa, relax their lynch mob... Sometimes Ryan doesn't have time to get overclocking results included before the NDA lifts. This was the case with the 780 review, where the overclocking review was posted 5 days after the initial 780 review...

Been over a week and still no overclocking update that I can see:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7503/the-amd-radeon-r9-270x-270-review-feat-asus-his

96Firebird was referencing:

Overclocked the GTX 760:

Anyone able to find the overclocking page in the Anandtech 270(X) review? My browser must be bugging out on me, can't see it.

I think it's safe to say, now, that there is a bit of discrepancy between the GTX 760 review and the 270(X) review. A month and no equivalent OC page.

Let it go, man
