And its ability to work on any ATX system , dixit AMD, wich means that its cooling wich blow hot air only out of the case is fully compatible with an ATX form factor that has no fans for case cooling, wich is not true for competing products as well as for open coolers of all kind.
While the noise factor is overhyped...
Please do not defend AMD with their terrible reference cooling, we have suffered since the 4800 series. Yes, it blows air out the case, so what, people who folk out THAT MUCH $$ for GPUs should know to put a few fans in their case for airflow. It's not an excuse for a poor effort for so long.
I fully expect their next cards on 20nm will be heaps better on the reference cooling.
Edit: For clarification, its not the noise I have a problem with, previous reference cards were already noisy for those who mind.. its the 95C on the R290/X, that kind of temp causes massive power leakage, causing efficiency to tank unnecessarily. That is the problem.
