Spending freeze

I kind of have.

But it's more of a dedication to eliminate all my debt except for student loans (which are more long term, and will be the next thing I work towards)

Not a total freeze, but I'm saving a lot more than I used to.

It has nothing to do with the economy, I just need to pay off my car loan.

I tried but my financial advisor vetoed it.

That is what happens when one is married😛

I am trying this year to better manage my spending, not necessarily a freeze. Been working for two year making enough for a family of 5 to live off of, and yet I alone manage to spend every paycheck to the last hundred.
It is disgusting, but that will change this year.

lol.. I was at the mall a couple of weeks ago, and I was thinking... man, women alone would never let this economy fall apart as I watched hundreds of them spending like no tomorrow including my gf.
They enjoy spending.

No spending freeze for me, but work has frozen capital expenditures until June...except to continue the $9.7mil expansion that we don't need.

No, but I anticipate the first thing obama does when he gets into office is put a spending freeze on all defense spending. Luckily we got all our contracts hashed out and money in hand for the next 4 years just before christmas, so I should be in good shape for at least a few years here...

Oh yeah to answer the 2nd half, no work hasn't done a spending freeze.

One of the benefits of an insurance company is that people always need insurance. Yeah we may lose some to cheaper companies (like safe-auto), but overall the economy doesn't affect us nearly as much as some other industries (although it does affect us without a doubt).

My company hasn't done a spending freeze but we've cut back on any extra spending that we did before like our twice yearly employee meetings where we do a company update and give out prizes and awards.

I've been on a personal spending freeze since my 2nd child came along three years ago. 😛

A potential employer (well, for an internship anyway) has said that they aren't hiring anyone until at least Fall.
About half of their business is in the automotive sector.

I tried to cut down the spending. But then I blacked out and when I came to I was eating delicious steak and lobster at a swanky restaurant.

We actually have somewhat of a spending freeze at work or at least anything we put in to purchase seems to be sent back asking us to cut some out of it.

I'm always on a spending freeze after Christmas, but for the first time I am really questioning my purchases.

Not so much a freeze as a better focus on what I do with my money, on the personal side.

For work, they're spending money like it's growing on trees, which worries me.
