120mph is fast but by far the craziest thing I've ever heard. I talked to a guy the other day at my office that was heading to court for a 185mph ticket on his motorcycle! :Q
Crotch rocket FTW!

Yep, I guess he juiced up the motor and wanted to take it out and see what she would do. I guess the cop that clocked him radioed for help and they had a road block setup 7 or 8 miles down the road waiting for him.

That guy should be ashamed of himself for doing 185MPH...and getting caught. ;) The lesson he should have learned? As soon as you pass a cop doing 185MPH, the next hill you go over, exit onto another highway. Not smart staying on the same highway you just passed a cop doing 185MPH.

And yes, 120MPH ain't that fast. Apparently people drive pretty damn slow in London for 120MPH to stand out. :p

Yes, the Viper can go faster. No, the Viper can't go past a speed cop at that rate and expect to get away with it.

He's lucky that his little midlife crisis mobile didn't catch Bambi, a pedestrian or some road debris, driving that fast on public roads.

Yeah that's right...

Screw the fine. Make him take HIS car, load it in the crusher and make HIM run the controls of the crusher watching his car get crushed flat. If he doesn't wish to co operate, then members of the enforcing firm (Mr. Browning, Mr. Mossburg, Mr. Winchester, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson, and Mister Glock) shall make his choice an easy one. :p

That sounds like a RETARDED idea...

If that were the case, I'd have crushed my car many times over... stupid. pay the fine, go do it again... :D

Ha! I love this. Next time you are going 120 MPH, why not take your eyes completely off the road!

Well if it's not that fast - Why the hell not!

Get my point? At 120mph or 200km/h the time available to react to something is very small... It's fast... no matter how many people on the board here say it isnt... or say they go that speed on their way to work every morning...

If you are going a speed that you dont feel comfortable taking your eyes off the road even for a split second... your going fast...

they set up a roadblock in 3 minutes?

Well i doubt it was the roadblock like you see in the movies. Probably a couple cops that were already down the interstate that heard the radio call and were waiting for him. And yes, that can certainly happen in 3 minutes.

Doesn't sound too fast, unless it's on a narrow road.
Been driving 140 mph before and it doesn't feel so fast, just meh; but slowing down to 80 mph does make it feel you're crawling :D

11 year old car, was $60k new.
KBB for a private party 1996 (doesn't have 1995 listed) in good condition is less than $30k.

120 is fast, but not that fast.
130 is pretty fast, but not insane
140 and you better be paying attention
150 and you should really slow down
Past that it's just balls vs hp

Agreed, 119mph is nothing.
I've been at 130mph on my 92' corolla.

I don't believe you.

30mph per gear times 5 gears = 150mph top speed at 5th gear.
130mph is just starting at 5th gear. ;)

I hope you're not being serious.

A '92 Corolla has barely 100 hp I believe, 130mph is impossible.

And your explanation on gearing is even more ridiculous I don't even know where to begin.

shh!!
/me wants to see a vid of a '92 corrolla do 90 in 3rd gear

:D

130mph is just starting at 5th gear. ;)

Lets see, based on my car's RPM:
1st gear: 35MPH redline
2nd gear: 60MPH redline
3rd gear: 105MPH redline
4th gear: 153MPH redline (115MPH@4500RPM)
5th gear: 197MPH redline (115MPH@3500RPM)
If it weren't for the computer, drag would kick in at 125 (based on someone with a similar trucks w/ aftermarket ECU that was stationed in Germany). I'd like to think that I have a truck that can almost do 200MPH, but I can't afford the drugs.

For the math heads:
6000RPM redline, NV3500 transmission, 3.55 rear end ratio, 29.5" tall tires.

Heh I've gone 115 mph in a Nissan Sentra before

Did it on I-10 (long trip from TX heading to California).

How fast it feels depends a lot on what sort of car you're driving.

WTF are you talking about?
Speeding fines over here (in the UK at least) are a fixed amount, depending on speed. There's no $10000 fine.

Who cares. If he can afford a Viper, he can afford the fine and a good lawyer.

$15,000

Scam asking you to wire money international and have the car shipped to you.
