Why did he even bother to pull over, if you have a viper you can damn well outrun any cop car

You can't outrun the radio.

definately not that fast, maybe in the canadian back country it is, but thats cruisin speed on the highway here.

Yes but if the cop doesn't get your liscense plate, you can blow past him, take an exit and get lost in side streets.

193km/h is fast no matter how you look at it... next time you are doing that look straight out your side window and tell me it's not fast... 🙂

Either way... Makes me wonder how fast he was going when he saw the cop car... 🙂 I'm sure he had a good couple seconds to hop on the binders and slow down a bit... 193 is what they locked on...

And for everyone doing 200km+ in their every day grocery getter's... just remember that your tires aren't rated for that speed, and one day you will probably find out the hard way... No matter what kind of car you have it's only as good as the 4 pieces of rubber that are touching the road...

The thing is, over in Europe the speeding ticket prices all depends on how much you make per year, not a set fine. He must be pritty loaded to get a ticket for that much of an amount, even though its over 2x the limit. People have been know to get $10000s in speeding tickets because they are billionaires.

This is London, ONTARIO.

Poster is an idiot, and pwned.

a) Not all of Europe excercises this practice, Finland is one of them and there may be a couple others, but it's definitely not a European thing..and definitely not an England thing
b) This is, as you stated in Canada, and in Canadian dollars..so it's really about $1.50 😛

is his last name really an expletive and the AT forums censored it, or your local newspaper does not post last names?

I'd be impressed if that was in mph,
just about anyone and their mom has done ~120 on the highway before

Agreed, 119mph is nothing.
I've been at 130mph on my 92' corolla.

I don't believe you.

30mph per gear times 5 gears = 150mph top speed at 5th gear.
130mph is just starting at 5th gear. 😉

I hope you're not being serious.

A '92 Corolla has barely 100 hp I believe, 130mph is impossible.

And your explanation on gearing is even more ridiculous I don't even know where to begin.

Canadian 'back country'.. imagine a highway that goes on FOREVER. newly paved.

It's like a giant drag strip 😀

speaking more of the attitudes than the possiblities for speeding. 120mph in most cities can be reduced with a driving course to pretty much no penalty at all

Saw that this morning. I said the same as most people, "it's not THAT fast"

I'm truthfully surprised they haven't seen faster.

I agree, not that fast. I've been 130 on the motorway in the UK. He may well be used to driving pretty fast back home, as long as you keep it under 100 you probably wouldnt get in too much trouble. I imagine it would be hard not to drive 120 or more in a viper on a nice straight road.........

They should take his car and give it to these folks.

Yeah that's right...

Screw the fine. Make him take HIS car, load it in the crusher and make HIM run the controls of the crusher watching his car get crushed flat. If he doesn't wish to co operate, then members of the enforcing firm (Mr. Browning, Mr. Mossburg, Mr. Winchester, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson, and Mister Glock) shall make his choice an easy one. 😛

120mph is fast but by far the craziest thing I've ever heard. I talked to a guy the other day at my office that was heading to court for a 185mph ticket on his motorcycle! :Q
Crotch rocket FTW!

Yep, I guess he juiced up the motor and wanted to take it out and see what she would do. I guess the cop that clocked him radioed for help and they had a road block setup 7 or 8 miles down the road waiting for him.

they set up a roadblock in 3 minutes?
