All die sizes are within 5mm^2. The poster here has been right on some things in the past afaik, and to his credit was the first to saying 505mm^2 for Navi21, which other people have backed up. Even still though, take the following with a pich of salt.

Navi21 - 505mm^2

Navi22 - 340mm^2

Navi23 - 240mm^2

Who are they? I know Bondrewd from beyond3d saying something like that.
If I am not mistaken, then the controversy about GPP was that OEMs will use Nvidia for their best offers, but now we don't have any laptop with N23.
BTW to be honest, at least for laptops AMD's offerings weren't very good compared to Nvidia for a long time.
I am more inclined to believe AMD has not made enough chips yet, which could explain why RX6600M is only a 28CU model instead of 32CU and why no desktop N23 was announced yet.

Bullshit Buster said It's happening for China market and not globally and RX 6700 is the most affected. If It's only meant for China, then why are there no laptops for the rest of the world?

He said it's happening for the Chinese OEMs, that means it affects practically the whole world.
What he wrote was this.
From what I gathered, NVIDIA targets only China market because GPP failed last time in the US.
So It should affect only China market and not the rest of the world and If we are talking about Chinese OEMs, then Lenovo is the only big Chinese laptop maker.
Asus, Acer are Taiwanese companies.
HP, Apple and Dell are American companies.
So how can It affect the whole world If only Lenovo can be influenced without any repercussions by Nvidia and even that only in China market?

Because they all assemble the whole laptops and sell them in China, which is one of the largest markets nowadays and when you take a decision about what to produce you prioritize what can be sold globally instead of what has "preferences", in a situation of low supply? A fact is that 6700XT cards are fairly available now everywhere (and prices are finally going down), so AMD produced at least in some volume the same chips used in 6800M/6700M (N22) and AMD always prioritized OEM first. 6600M may be late, but we should have seen at least some more designs based on the 6800M which is highest end mobile and thus with certainly less volume than mainstream parts. But we didn't, even if the chip had great reviews even if with a half-assed solution as ASUS provided. By the way, I don't need nor I want to convince you.

In comparisons between the RX 6600M and RTX 3060 mobile keep in mind that mobile RTX 3060 has full 30 SMs, compared to 28 for desktop part.

They might release the full fat 32CU but it'd be Apple exclusive probably.
They will most likely release It, but I don't see a good reason to sell full N23 exclusively to Apple. Another question is If full N23 is not shipped primarily for Tesla and that's why only a cut down version was introduced.

For which computer? ;) Intel Mac Pro?

Actually both SKUs will land on dekstop. Full and cut down die.

But this was AMD's decision.
If AMD finally releases a full N22, then It will be 32CU vs 30(28)SM in favor of AMD.
Thats not the point. My point is this GPU is better than the mobile version would make you believe it is against its direct counterparts.

If you're bored and waiting for the next round of GPU releases like me, go back and start reading this thread from the beginning and see how wildly far off everyone was in their calculations regarding the RDNA2 dies.

The real fun begins around page 150/Oct 28 with the big reveal.

Hoooly crap I need some new releases and reviews to chew on...

The only exciting thing about the imminent releases this month is the clocks of the upcoming 6600 series and the performance/watt AMD was able to achieve. Radeon Pro W6600 is able at 130W (powered only by 6pin) to hit 2.9GHz turbo. 6600XT probably will have higher TBP powered by 8pin so I see no reason not to hit 2.9GHz (although 3GHz would be nice for the marketing department😍). at 2.9GHz should be at most +10% from 5700XT, but regarding prices I wonder how the possibility of a $279 3060 6GB is going to affect their pricing plans (and not forget a possible $399 6700 12GB with at least +10% performance vs 6600 XT, why we haven't seen the cut down 6700 model yet?🤔) Btw now that Nvidia drivers matured a little bit for the Ryzen 5000 platform and with resizable BAR enabled Nvidia gained a little bit performance vs the first reviews, below relative performance from Techpowerup:

Thank you for sharing :)

Man, it's sorta nuts that we might keep getting cards with such a tight performance and power grouping but just less and less silicon. I really like single 6-Pin cards as they seem to play nicer with case thermals and power supplies. If 6600XT is another 200W+ card... lol

I wonder how the possibility of a $279 3060 6GB is going to affect their pricing plans (and not forget a possible $399 6700 12GB with at least +10% performance vs 6600 XT, why we haven't seen the cut down 6700 model yet?🤔)

That $279 3060 only exists in fantasy land because you can't get a 3060 for less than $600 right now unless you want to compete with bots, etc. A 6 GB 3060 mines just as well as a 12 GB 3060 so miners will still dictate prices.

We've still got a ways to go before pricing plans or what a company like AMD/Nvidia thinks MSRP ought to be has an actual bearing on reality for the vast majority of us.

Thanks, I want to clarify although of course obvious, that it's just speculation on my part, I have no real info for the upcoming models. Regarding the 6pin comment I think RX 6600 will be 6pin powered (in contrast with the 130W 8pin powered 5500XT, which imo was a mistake to require 8pin in this price segment and possibility hurt the penetration that could have in a segment of the target market) but also I don't know if they will able to achieve 2.9GHz for RX 6600 because of the more premium components the workstation part can afford to comply with the 130W TBP and stay within the 150W limit that the 6pin+PCI can supply and of course they want to maintain at least 10% difference with 6600XT. I think 6600XT will require a 8pin and they only need to look good in the performance/W metric vs Nvidia's models and 5700 series.

I agree, but the premium we are paying right now it has nothing to do with the SRPs that AMD and Nvidia are bound when announcing new product launches, since the SRPs have to make sense with the SRPs that are already out there. The only other option is delay or no desktop launch (like 6700 12GB, or possibly 3060 6GB also...) if there is a launch the SRP have to make sense imo

Coreteks and MLID seem to think the 6600XT's "MSRP" is going to be $399.

If it actually were available that price right now, it would make some sense. In a normal environment 300 - 350 would make a lot more sense.

I think you're both sort of correct. It's going to retail for $399, but cost an extra $300 on top of that due to scalpers, etc.

Everybody wins! Well not really.

$399? 🤯, the scalping is done now from AMD themselves?
6600XT will be around -13-15% from 3060Ti in classic rasterization, with way inferior than 15% ray tracing performance, with inferior upscaling tech, without equivalent software suite and they want to charge the same price? (allegedly, because probably MLID & coreteks spreading $399 in order when we see $349-369 supposedly we will be relieved, lol) even at $349 is not great value, yesterday I posted that that the pricing of the RX 6600 series must be competitive with a possible $279 3060 6GB among others (if ever Nvidia decides to launch such a product) meaning the RX 6600 8GB which will be around the same ballpark (±4%) , must be at most $299 (due to the extra memory) and then I guess +$50 for the 6600XT version. Anything above $349 SRP is bad value regarding SRPs imo (and anyway if coreteks is indeed correct and RX 6600XT is around +5% of 5700XT at the same $399 again after 2 years+ , lol, thanks AMD!)

It makes the most sense that if the companies (ie, AMD) can bring home $399 for the product, why wouldn't they? It's likely they'll sell out until crypto GPU mining totally tanks and the used cards flood the market. Scalpers gonna scalp.

AMD is for profit and has leeches vampires shareholders to report to.

I don't see it as a money grab at all. If there hadn't been COVID and there hadn't been a trade war and there hadn't been some weird monetary policies and GPU Crypto mining had stayed dead, yeah, this would be like a $300 tops card. And probably way on sale not long after launch.

But those things did/are happening and so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Buying a 5700xt today is stupid expensive so it makes sense to me, at least, it would cost as much or more as an out of warranty 5700xt if it is faster at its primary purpose - gaming.
