Back OT, regardless of the acting I love this series. It's raw, raunchy, and compelling. All the backstabbing and machinations are great. The prequel was way too short at 6 episodes. Need more...with less penis though.

Bumping this thread because I watched the first episode The Red Serpent for the first time tonight. Honestly, I think there needs to be more television series like this. Yes, it's violent and (softcore) pornographic, but so what? I'm an adult who doesn't plan to show it to kids, so I don't give a fuck about that... It was enjoyable and pretty well done, so I plan to watch the other episodes in the season, and then I'll look at the series Rome.

I think there needs to be more available to watch on tv that isn't dumbed down so that overly prudish, moralizing people will be happy.

Yeah, I watched the first episode of Gods of the Arena (season 2) before watching Blood and Sand (season 1), which actually spoiled the ending to season 1 .

I watched this a couple weeks back. I really enjoyed it. Yea, it's a bit over the top and there are tits, but it was a pretty well told story and reasonably entertaining with enough intrigue. I haven't watched the prequel series, though I probably will soon.

Looking forward to see what they try for Season 2.

Final thought: it's nothing like rome and it really isn't trying to be. Rome was unlike anything else really on TV and it makes sense that not much else can be like it (not without trucks of cash anyway).

I haven't seen any of Camelot, but GoT so far has been pretty great. At least equal to Spartacus, imo. Certainly a different pace in story development though.
