um, i was wondering if nebody else is having the same problem...
1. overall i've been pretty impressed w/ the onboard sound on the soyo card. i can't really hear a diff btw this and my sb live 5.1 xgamer...however, when i played serious sam using audio option eax enabled, the sound effects were really bad...i switched to direct sound and it was much clearer. nebody know if this would be fixed or am i juss doing something wrong
2. before yesterday i had a cpu fan tht was like 6000 rpm which drove me nuts. i picked up an alpha and grabbed a random 80mm fan (4 pin) from my old computer and set it runnin...knowing that soyo has a cpu temp protection feature (such that if there were no cpu fan installed it wouldn't boot) i tried trickin the system by insertin a 3 pin, 2200 rpm case fan that was also 80 mm to the cpu fan slot. It didn't boot.
what i did was put the 6000 rpm fan back so my comp would start up properly, go to bios, disable cpu temp protection, then unplug the 6000 rpm fan and now everything works. however, it bugs me a lil that im not using the cpu temp protection feature that came w/ the board. did it not boot correctly cuz the mb thought my fan speed was too slow?
thanks in advance~
