Which is better for you and why.

I tried Soy milk in my cereal (Fiber 1 + fruit) and didn't notice any difference from 1% milk.

I like soy milk simply because it has a taste. Being asian, I also grew up on it.

Soy milk has less fat and more vitamins, I think. Been a long time since I compared the labels, but I remember it being healthier than cow's milk.

Soy milk is by far better for you. FAR. No comparison. Not even close.

That said, some people have a hard time with it. Personally, I like it.

The key is brand. You have to find a brand that is good.

Original soy milk is generally disgusting. Vanilla is good, chocolate you can't even tell.

I drank only soy milk for almost a year... when I had milk again, it was absolutely disgusting.. It tasted like animals..cow. I swear to god..

You also can't really compare it to milk. If you do, you will be disappointed. It is excellent to make breakfast smoothies and to put in cereal. Think about it. Vanilla flavored liquid in cereal. What doesen't sound good about that?

It is if you get Vanilla or Chocolate, yes. Chocolate soy milk is pretty much just like chocolate milk. You just taste the cocoa.

My favorite brand is Trader Joes. They have VERY good vanilla soy milk, but it only comes in these small square quart containers.

It's also more expensive than milk.. But IMO, it is a MUCH better source of protein(plant protein vs. animal), and you also get bioflvonoids and other plant-related, cancer fighting goodies.

Soy milk can be low fat. It does not come from cows and does not contain lactose. Also there is some noise around that soy protein has other health benefits.

I prefer neither, except for some milk in my morning cereal.

Soy milk doesn't keep long enough to last as long as it takes me to drink it........And $$$$

In my experience, soy milk will keep just as long as normal milk if your fridge is nice and cold.

It's about a dollar more a gallon, so that could be a factor.. but IMO, it's worth it drinking something that is actually good for you, versus flat out bad for you.

That's insane! :Q That certainly isn't good for you. Be on the look out for kidney stones and calcium deposits....

It really, really, really depends on the brand. I've had some nasty vanilla soy milk, but I've also had brands that are quite pleasing tasting.

So cow's milk is flat out bad for you? No redeeming characteristics? I'd love to know what your diet consists of. And I don't hate soy milk, they're both just dandy.

I've drank soy milk for years. I got off regular milk for good about 12 years ago. And I loved my milk an cereal. After a month or two, regular milk tasted disgusting. I'll never drink it.

The thing about soy beans is that they are tasteless. You simply flavor them however you want. Soy "steak" or burgers don't taste like anything upon creation. It's all in the flavoring.

And as far as health goes, regular milk is nowhere near as good for you as soy milk is. Regular milk is actually bad for you. After the steroids and antibiotics are injected into the cows and the milk is pasturized/stripped of what nutritional value it had left, you ain't left with much good. Couple that with the fact that the human race as a whole has not yet fully adapted to dairy products, digestively speaking, and it seems like soy is a good alternative.

I drink milk and eat meat.. so don't go thinkin' I'm a crazy veg. :p

Not compared to something like soy milk. What is in cow's milk that is good for you? Hormones, pus, unusable calcium, lactose?

Ah.. Vitamin D. Woohoo! :) Plant proteins are superior to animal proteins. Just do some research.. I think you'll be pleasantly horrified.

If you're going to drink milk, at least do yourself a favor and buy organic.
