The thing about soy beans is that they are tasteless. You simply flavor them however you want. Soy "steak" or burgers don't taste like anything upon creation. It's all in the flavoring.

And as far as health goes, regular milk is nowhere near as good for you as soy milk is. Regular milk is actually bad for you. After the steroids and antibiotics are injected into the cows and the milk is pasturized/stripped of what nutritional value it had left, you ain't left with much good. Couple that with the fact that the human race as a whole has not yet fully adapted to dairy products, digestively speaking, and it seems like soy is a good alternative.
While I 100% agree with you.. unfortunately, almost every liquid on store shelves is pasturized. It's the easiest and cheapest method to kill baddies.. It's unfortunate that it kills enzymes and other beneficial things too.

Ah.. Vitamin D. Woohoo! :) Plant proteins are superior to animal proteins. Just do some research.. I think you'll be pleasantly horrified.

If you're going to drink milk, at least do yourself a favor and buy organic.

Are you basing that on theory, or actual experimentation? According to The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition soy milk is the one with calcium that can't be absorbed.

It's because Soy milk doesen't contain much calcium by itself; it has to be fortified. What does almost everybody use to add calcium to their product? Tricalcium phosphate. It's garbage as far as that goes. I try not to hold it against them.

It has also been show that milk fat is beneficial for weight loss in women. Women drinking 2% milk are slimmer on average than those drinking skim under similar diet and exercise routines.

Now if they would only do a study like that for men :(
