Aww man. I don't go to decadence but he is usually out there during Mardi Gras, New Years, the FQ festival and just about any big event in the FQ. I am going to miss messing with him and his "flock". There are usually a few people dragging crosses too but they just hand out "your going to hell" pamphlets.

Can't say that I am surprised though.

Maybe the news story left out that cops indeed found a bottle of piss in the van. Or maybe, there was no bottle because he got emberassed when caught trying to pee in the bottle. Also, maybe, the park guy that detained him until police came, and he didn't piss himself, so he didn't have to go so bad that he needed to use the bottle.

OR he was really masturbating in a park well watching children.

No reason in hell to try and piss in a bottle anywhere near the playground in Lafreniere Park. It would have taken literally a few secs to drive to an area that didn't have near the activity (or children) and maybe a minute to hit one of the dozens of nearby gas stations, restaurants, fast food joints, etc... Not to mention the massive oak trees that are all over the park he could have taken a leak behind. I guess his story is possible but it damn sure ain't plausible considering the area.

More details. According to the arrest report there is no mention of a search of the van or a pee bottle found in the van. Looks like it's going to be a he said, she said x2 but he will probably lose based on some of his comments. The guy sounds like a sicko.

I used to live next to Lafreniere Park. Sad to hear of this type of activity in it.

Grant Storms denies masturbating in Metairie park, apologizes

By Michelle Hunter, The Times-Picayune

Though he admitted to having his hands in his pants, embattled Christian fundamentalist Grants Storms denied Tuesday that he was masturbating in a Metairie park before being arrested.

Storms, 53, addressed the allegations during a news conference in Metairie, one day after his arrest became public. Read the four-page arrest report.

He denied Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office reports that he had confessed to masturbating Friday in the driver's seat of his van while it was parked near a playground at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., according to WWL radio's video of the news conference.

"I had my hands in my pants," he said. When asked by a reporter what he was doing with his hands, Storms answered, "I don't want to get into all that right now. That will come out in court."

On Friday, Storms was taken into custody and booked with one count of obscenity after two women told deputies they saw him pleasuring himself in the van. He was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna on Sunday because of jail crowding.

One of the witnesses, who parked next to Storms, said that he performed the act while "looking at the playground area that contained children playing," an incident report said.

Storms denied that he was looking at any children and said that he was neither a pedophile nor a child molester.

"The impression is that I was out there exposing myself to them and that's not the case," he said.

Storms said he tends the lawns of several customers near the park and stopped there to relax. He initially told investigators that he had urinated in a bottle in the van instead of going to the restroom.

"In the lawn care business, you carry a pee bottle and I did urinate in the pee bottle and my pants were open and I put my hands in my pants," he said.

Storms, who once called himself a "Christian patriot," gained notoriety for his fervent opposition to Southern Decadence, a three-day gay festival held in the French Quarter during Labor Day weekend. Storms and his followers used bullhorns, and picket signs to protest the festival, which he has said turned the Quarter into Sodom and Gomorrah.

Storms on Tuesday apologized to those he had maligned.

"When I look back, there's a lot of things I would have done differently. I was so proudful(sic). I was very arrogant. I was very mean-spirited at times and I apologize," he said, adding later, "I'll fess up to my shortcomings, and whatever they say against me, they can say it. They have every right now to say it."

He also asked for forgiveness from his wife and four children, admitting that he has a problem with sexually explicit material. Storms said he has surrounded himself with pastors who are helping him.

"I deeply hurt my family," he said. "I let a lot of people down, and you know, I just pray that they can find it within their heart to forgive me."

Clearly he had his hands in his pants because of his legitimate fears of gays stealing his penis with their fairy magic. :D

Of course there are no religious sickos who repress sexuality in that region of the world.

How about this one: the Catholic church.

How exactly does the Catholic church repress sexuality?

I can think of three examples. They ask that people abstain from sex before marriage, not engage in homosexual sex, and that priests and nuns abstain from sex altogether.

Considering that priests and nuns accept the celibacy vocation willingly, I wouldn't call that terribly repressive. Certainly not on the "sicko" level.

If this sexual repression theory holds water, shouldn't we see American Muslims engaging in this sort of action too?

I seem to recall from my childhood they have issues with masturbation too.

It may be willingly accepted, but that doesn't mean it's a choice without risk of deviancy.

I'm sure they do.

You want to spend tax payers money on throwing a guy who masturbates in jail for a long time?

Who masturbates in a public area near children? It's generally referred to as being a sex offender....so yes, jail sounds like the place for him. Besides, he'll have plenty of free time to save souls and shine his helmet in the clink...

We put people in jail for much less..

I didn't say there wasn't.

Do you have a credible study that shows a proportionally higher incident rate of deviant sexual behavior among Catholics? Or is this something you imagine to be true?

This one is funny, this guy associates himself with Savage, the biggest hypocrite closet case around who rails on and on about gay folks being dramatic when he himself has made a career on the radio being a drama queen hating on his own people riding the coatails of other semi famous homosexuals in the counterculture scene. Michael Weiner is a pathetic human with a lot of sad followers believing his projection bullshit.

I have lived in SF for a looong time, I hate (not) to break it to one of his biggest fanbois but your hero Michael Savage's hypocritical ass has been literally San Francisco's doorknob, everyone got a turn. ():)

Yes but you are adding to the debt. Are you saying some debt is ok?

Yep, if it means some creepy guy isn't looking at kids on a playground and masturbating. Do you have kids? Are you really somehow at ease with this man's alleged actions? Even if he didn't do it, anyone who would do something like this doesn't need to be walking around unmonitored.

It just strikes me as odd that a fiscal conservatives first response was to spend 40k a year for the next 40 years.

Actually, I don't find his actions worthy of a jail sentence. Maybe a restraining order, but that's all. Thanks to nanny state, we have way too many people sitting in prison for harmless things like possession of marijuana or failure to pay pussy tax (aka. alimony) while the jackasses who orchestrated the 2008 financial meltdown are home free, and raking in millions in bonuses and bailouts.

I gots a label :) I dunno about 40 years, and I'm all for sexual predators rejoining society after some sort of rehab.

I agree with this as well. Those financial criminals belong behind bars too. I also agree that too many people sit in prison for nonsense...maybe if we stopped putting them in jail there'd be room for the people that belong there.

So, anyway...If his God is real, he's going to get what he deserves :)

You forgot number four, not to engage in recreational sex in marriage.
