South Korea/North Korea Engaged In Military Posturing

My wife's family escaped from North Korea right before the soviet tanks rolled accross the border. I know a lot more about Korea than you might think.

The Korean war and Japanese occupation of Korea is a very violent time during which many south koreans were murdered wholesale by their enemies. Their books were burned, their trees were cut down, their fishing grounds overfished their natural resources mined, the farmers force to grow food, their women stolen as sex slaves and young men stolen as a work force in Japan of which many were killed when the USA dropped nuclear bombs.

Then after all of that they were invaded by the North Koreans with soviet tanks. Then when the USA helped them defeat their enemies the Chinese communists invaded them with the North Koreans a second time.

If there is any country on this worth that deserves our protection it is South Korea. They yearn to live free.

Agreed, South Korea is an amazing success story. (We just bought a washing machine manufactured in South Korea; since I can't seem to find an American-built machine anymore we chose that over Germany or Mexico.) They are building a vibrant semi-Western-style capitalist nation in the ruins of a subsistence farming battleground. Hopefully they can overcome their indigenous idiots better than we are overcoming our own, but they certainly deserve our protection and friendship. And yes, their women are hot. That always helps.

The Soviets drove down from the North. The other Allies drove up from the South.
Just like in Germany - They stopped at an agreed on location.

Areas under Soviet occupation turned into communism.
Areas under US/Australia influence turned into a productive country.

Then you can look up what caused the Korean war (outside of your propaganda sources).
Maybe ask your parents. Ask them why there are two Koreas. This way you can listen to the spoken word.
You may be able to comprehend that more than the written word.
