South Carolina - highest murder rate in three decades

Meanwhile, while NYC had a rise in homicides since Covid, it's still far lower than historic averages. But yet the 'liberal' media has everyone thinking NYC is the dangerous spot. It's still one of the safest big cities in America, and Southern shithole states are much more dangerous per capita. Also funny this came out just two days after the election, but not before.

The twenty cities in the United States with the highest murder rates (murders per 100,000 people) are:
  1. St. Louis, MO (69.4)
  2. Baltimore, MD (51.1)
  3. New Orleans, LA (40.6)
  4. Detroit, MI (39.7)
  5. Cleveland, OH (33.7)
  6. Las Vegas, NV (31.4)
  7. Kansas City, MO (31.2)
  8. Memphis, TN (27.1)
  9. Newark, NJ (25.6)
  10. Chicago, IL (24)
  11. Cincinnati, OH (23.8)
  12. Philadelphia, PA (20.2)
  13. Milwaukee, WI (20.0)
  14. Tulsa, OK (18.6)
  15. Pittsburgh, PA (18.4)
  16. Indianapolis, IN (17.7)
  17. Louisville, KY (17.5)
  18. Oakland, CA (17.1)
  19. Washington D.C. (17.0)
  20. Atlanta, GA (16.7)

Sounds like SC needs to start electing Republicans. I hear they are tough on crime. Give them a shot for once and I bet they fix that liberal shitshow.
lol

People are so dumb.

Funny by that list the country thinks NYC, Portland, Seattle - all total anarchy and totally rampant crime. Most dangerous places in the country. None on the list.

The fucking media sucks, and people are fucking dumb

Not fair to do by city because increase in crime per capita is closer to exponential. Cities are by definition more dense. Here are gun deaths by state per capita. More realistic numbers. Note the states in the top 10. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/gun-deaths-per-capita-by-state

Wasn't Philly supposed to have more murders than philly cheese steak sandwiches?

Are these numbers off the dominion election counting machines that were hacked???

It's starting to get boring trying to be polite when the old people tell me to be careful in the city because all of the crime. About how I need to avoid subways and all the homeless because they saw a video on the news.

I know - last time I was in NYC on July, it was fine. The only real problem was that it's Trash City, USA. Piling those disgusting bags on the sidewalk instead of using automated collection like a first world city.

Time to tell them what is really up. Their shithole state is more unsafe than NYC by far. Fuck them.

I have been to NYC 50+ times in the last 2 years, safe estimate. From day to night. All over Manhattan, to parts of Brooklyn and some of Queens. It's been a blast and never felt unsafe. Subways, bike, car, walking.

I've gone on many outings with women there who, gasp, survive. Without wearing body armor and carrying an assault rifle. From going out to daily errands to commuting to work.

I can't stand ignoramuses anymore, they are literally creating a virtual reality that is destroying our country.

Where in the city were you and what day.
Bags were probably out because how else is the sanitation department supposed get the bags?

Do people in NYC literally leave trash bags on the sidewalk instead of in trash cans?
I'm not sure if you have any actual big buildings by you. But when you have 60 unit buildings side by side by side, you ain't fitting them in trash cans. Hopefully one day they have massive dumpsters.

But if you've never been to a city like new York in the US, the rest look like little villages.

Plus with all the crime, it takes too long to bring out trash cans. Everywhere is shooting and anarchy. You gotta move fast. Please don't visit

I recall a rather lengthy thread about the garbage problem in NYC.

However, this thread is about gun violence by state 😏

what makes the SE and MW states so prone to gun violence?

It was a weekday evening, followed by a morning.

How else? Take some street parking away and put big collection bins in. Then buy trucks that can be operated by one for automated collection. Use efficiencies gained to collect trash more often.

You should totally start a thread about that. But that wasn't the subject of this thread.

D's don't really attack on this issue. They just play defense about SF/NYC.

I wish they would go on offense and point out the violence, but also the poverty, poor schools, poor healthcare systems, low incomes, low security, low opportunity.

The murder rates are signs of social breakdown

Here are the 10 states with the highest gun deaths per capita. More representative of the overall gun death rates in the country. Anyone notice something???

The list was top 20 cities murders per capita.

The list you have is gun deaths by state per capita.

When you specify Gun Deaths only you leave out a lot of violent murders.
