The best part is that everyone here in Illinois is celebrating the news. All politics aside, Blowjobavich is one hated individual by both the left and the right.

So true, it's like Christmas came early this year, ppl are buzzing and smiling about it at work.

Daniel Walker, but to be fair he was arrested a decade after the end of his time in office. Still not good

Politicians guilty of this level of corruption - especially when they're as unapologetic as this asshole - should be publicly hanged.

What a scumbag this guy is. I hope there's no plea deal that allows him to resign without facing some serious time in jail.

Actually this is quite a revelation on how Obama rose to the top.

Way to go Illionois you guys learned well from the Republicans.

And the crotchety Democrat apologist finally pokes out his head.

The self proclaimed "most educated American on the internet" proves he doesn't know squat of Illinois history, yet can still present falsehoods as fact. ;)

In addition, in the course of the conversations over the last month, ROD
BLAGOJEVICH has spent significant time weighing the option of appointing himself to the
open Senate seat, and has expressed a variety of reasons for doing so, including frustration
at being ?stuck? as governor, a belief that he will be able to obtain greater resources if he is
indicted as a sitting Senator as opposed to a sitting governor, and a desire to remake his
image in consideration of a possible run for President in 2016,
avoid impeachment by the
Illinois legislature, make corporate contacts that would be of value to him after leaving
public office, facilitate his wife?s employment as a lobbyist, and assist in generating speaking
fees should he decide to leave public office.

The complete affidavit contains quite a few damning phone calls...

Also an awful lot of references to [President-Elect] and [President-Elect Adviser] in there. Makes you wonder if anything is going to come out of this investigation that links directly to him.

The Feds are all over Illinois right now. Blago isnt the only one going down. I doubt Obama will get implicated in anything but I wouldnt doubt if several of his previous associates go down soon.

Why should he have to?

When did I say that he should? The scandal is directly tied to him, as the seat being sold was the one that he left vacant. I'm not implying that Obama did anything wrong.

Why should he have to?

Because his entire political career and his rise to the most powerful office in the world was incubated in what is now quite obviously one of the most audaciously corrupt state administrations in modern history? How would remaining silent benefit him?

Has there been any word out yet about possible bites (if any) he got when shopping around the seat?

The Obama camp may make a statement; word is that Blago contacted Rahm Emanuel about the *sale* and Rahm turned him in. If this rumour keeps up somebody might need to say something.

"Stop calling, this is a serious line and you are not Rahm Emanuel, and the Illinois governor is not selling a United States senate seat. Further abuse of this line will lead to prosectuion."
