Want to buy a Senate seat?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200...evich_corruption_probe

CHICAGO ? Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested on Tuesday on charges that he brazenly conspired to sell or trade the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by President-elect Barack Obama to the highest bidder.

He also allegedly discussed getting campaign funds for himself or possibly a post in the president's cabinet or an ambassadorship once he left the governor's office. He noted becoming a U.S. senator might remake his image for a possible presidential run in 2016, according to the affidavit. And he allegedly said a Senate seat would also provide him with corporate contacts if he needed a job and present an opportunity for his wife to work as a lobbyist.

"I want to make money," the affidavit quotes him as saying in one conversation.

This guy has a set of balls that is for sure.

Was thinking the exact same thing. And it's amazing how brazen this guy was. I'm from the NY metro area -- this is something I'd expect a morally bankrupt NY financier-type to engage in, not a sweet honest midwesterner! (of course Al Capone operated in Chicago too).

If he is guilty he and jefferson, stevens, etc.. can share a cell.
How about the "Maricopa County Federal Correctional Facility for Corrupt Politicians"

They can wear black and white stripes and perform community work.

Yep, I can't believe how arrogant this guy is. He's been under investigation for corruption for over two years, and he just increases the activity.

It was inevitable, Blogo was already in a heap of trobs regarding bribery and the feds were basically going to patiently wait until his end of term to lower the boom. So instead, he tries to openly sell a Senate seat
and gets himself busted immediately.

Some people are just plain stupid, its a coveted award with its associated 15 minutes of fame, and today, its Gov. Blagojevich's turn to win the award. I hope he goes to jail, straight to jail, and stays in jail.

I'd expect a politician in Zimbabwe or something to be so open about charging for his services, but in the U.S.????

No way in 2008 a guy should be sporting that do. Completely unacceptable, I'd like to see him hanged if for nothing other than that haircut.

Then they should be expelled. It's just not right. Surely you can see where I'm coming from, that haircut is like the Monkeys from the 60's.

Daley's old man beat it into him on how to be discreetly corrupt. Hopefully Stroeger (Cook County Board President and amazingly stupid individual) is next.

Still, isn't it amazing that BHO is totally submersed in this kind of corruption, at all levels, yet he sees none of it, says nothing about it, and essentially denies its existence (he did tell Kenyans that they need to clean up THEIR act for essentially the same things).

Welcome to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

They're also serving warrants to the Lt Gov, Pat Quinn, and some other offices. I don't think they'll find anything against Quinn, he's a pretty straight shooter, especially for a Dem (I voted for him too).

Hahaha, my boss has similar haircut and actually looks a bit like Blago, he was late today so we thought he got hauled away too...

I know this will totally surprise you, but, Blago's an Elvis fan, big time.

Haha, 3 of the last 5 Illinois governors arrested. That's embarrassing. I wonder when Obama will comment.

The best part is that everyone here in Illinois is celebrating the news. All politics aside, Blowjobavich is one hated individual by both the left and the right.
