Sound Question

I have a DVD drive and a CD Writer. I can't figure out how to play audio with both of them. When I hook up the audio cable from the Writer to the sound card, I don't get any audio.

Is there any way to do this? If so, how.

BTW, I have a Sould Blaster Live card.

Thanks.

Well, i'm going to start with the obvious and work my way from there. Have you tried flipping the cable to the sound card around? Also, have you made sure that the cd audio in the sound applet is turned up and not muted? Finally, have you tried more than one audio CD?

Good luck

your dvd drive and cd-rw drive should EACH have a audio cable going to your sound card. One probably goes the AUX connector, which is often the second audio input. Make sure your volume is up and not muted for the AUX Windows volume control.

Have you tried enabling Digital Playback under Multimedia Properites?? Of course, if the drive supports it, i mean.
I don't even bother trying to hook those cables up anymore. I noticed the the labeled inputs, are never the ones labeled on the Mixer. My line in on the card is controlled my the TAD in on the windows mixer.
