Despite the fact that Congress was supposed to be out of session until the end of January, the Judiciary Committee has just announced plans to come back to continue the markup this coming Wednesday. This is rather unusual and totally unnecessary. But it shows just how desperate Hollywood is to pass this bill as quickly as possible, before the momentum of opposition builds up even further.

Don't know anything about this? Don't think this might not effect you? Educate yourself and watch these clips.

It kinda amazes me if this shit passes ... 90% of americans are going to wake up after Xmas day and wonder what the fuck happened to our rights that just got flushed down the crapper. Since apparently no one here cares much about this...

Time will tell!

I've contacted my reps about this, I hope others do as well. If you value the internet as you know it (or have known it), you'd better take action, because if this passes the internet as an even remotely open medium is done.

SOPA

This is clearly not in the interests of the people. May it be flushed down like the POS that most of us recognize it to be.

Bump for the thread...

This is what you get when you vote "R".

LMAO! Counting is, like, hard and stuff. Counting is math. Math is racist and sexist and can even lead to thinking. Let's see what Media Matters has to say instead! Yup, it's an evil Republican plot, so vicious it even roped in Debbie Wasserman Schultz and John Conyers!

The people wanted change, they got exactly what they wanted.

Its just not the type of change they were expecting.

Who originally proposed the bill.... it sure as fuck wasn't a Democrat that is what I was referring to. The Democrats who jumped on board are as bright as the Republican legislators who originally crafted the Bill.

I KNEW Ausm was the official forum jester! He gets paid to be stupid! I knew it! Man, I pegged that one nicely from the start. 🙂

He does a great job of it. I am very impressed.

I figured the moron would jump back and try to defend his stupidity.

I shouldn't have been surprised at that. It's all about trying to spin the blame against the other side, and then he, like so many others, will sit there and wonder why the government is dragging us all down the shitter.

Hey I call it as I see it...deal with it. The Bill originated from the Republicans in the HOR...sorry to break it to ya..

Wait so everyone in this thread opposes this bill.

But you still can't agree.

See you on the other side of SOPA after it passes.

I'm not even going to bother contacting my congressman. I didn't vote for him and I think he's a dipshit and that's the most I can do at the minute.

If we really wanted to encourage innovation we would reduce copy rights and patents to a five year maximum. But what SOPA is all about is fat cats getting fatter.
