I've met some people who have a compulsion to download anything and everything, even though they can't even get around to watching/playing it all. But after a while, they realize there is far more crap out there than they can ever hope to grab, and the urge fades away.

I'm pretty much the antithesis of that. I download something only if I have to and I delete it as soon as I can, ie finished watching it.

I would cancel your service just for the hell of it, you're just a bandwidth hog admit it. A greedy little Urchin is all you are you see all that free stuff so you just can't help yourself. One Buttman video wont do ya you need the whole collection.

I don't think that number is out of reach.. I am not a heavy downloader and I would say there have been days where I have pushed 5-10gb.. It adds up.. I bet he just always has 5-6 torrents up..

No, but they WILL disconnect you if your bandwidth gets really high for an extended time (like, 200k/s for an hour or so). It just means you have to reset your modem, but it's still a pain because you can't leave something to download through the night or while at work, etc.

They say it is a deter hackers, but I think that's a load of crap. It doesn't seem like they would give a crap.

Why have the bandwidth if you can't use it?

In any case, 374GB/mo is a lot of f'ing files. I can't imagine regular browsing using more than 1GB/mo, and even that is a long shot. How the hell do you have room for 300GB of data per month anyway? Downloading movies then deleting/burning them or something?

RR has never disconnected me and I've downloaded for like 2-3 weeks straight.

On the contrary - I have all the crap that there is out there (that's worth having) - I havn't used 90% of it.

I was only ever a few months behind on dialup.

Um.. what then, movies? Programs? Games? Are you around the house so much you can watch movies so fast you need them at a constant rate? Do you continually need new games every few hours? I dont understand what you could possibly be downloading that would require that much bandwidth. Any normal person wouldn't have enough time during a day to watch/play/use all the crap that was just downloaded

DVD's ar 4.5GB, xbox games typically 2GB +, TV series ~ 5 GB per season unless its DVD, which would be 7 DVD's or so. it all adds up apparently

yes you might be right...and how much time do you spend burning/watching that stuff ? :)

you know they have stores where they sell those things, right? :Q

personally, I'd recomend a little known place called amazon.com, or possibly Best Buy.

yes Comcast has a hidden limit. Lots of discussions about it on dslreports or something. Used to be 100 gigs, and when I passed that in a month for the first time I got scared. But the letter never came, so I went a little higher the next month. I've still yet to cross the 200gb threshold, but I've come close once or twice, past 175 gigs. I can't imagine how you do 374 in a month though. I mean, I could do it, but even downloading a bunch of 4 gig files wont put you anywhere close to that
