Too many idiots posting in this thread.....mods feel free to lock it I dont care, and if a vacation is in order...so be it, But if a PM could be sent with a notice I would appriciate it so people in FSFT don't go calling troll on me. Most of my deals should be finished up this weekend.

and upon me checking my server stats, I dont know where this 374GB number comes from, I can get a little closer to it if i count in my upload, Had some DV movies that i was sending to friends/website (the stickypod camera mount is awesome!) So they must mean TOTAL bw, even though i asked him and he said downloaded.

cliff notes for everyone too lazy to read...

Comcast calls says i downloaded 374GB
people say i should be banned
some say i shouldnt
repeat 2-3

and don't pm me asking where i got my stuff...if you want it find it on your own. And for the love of all things nice, if you do download things, and enjoy them, BUY THEM, I do, and I dont care what others in this thread say they "know" about me and i can't possibly buy it....

oh yeah, and something else thats been said, "sue comcast"....riight, and lose, because it clearly states in their TOS you can't disrupt other peoples service, and high BW through one node is disruptive of other peoples service.

so I'm done

They want me to cut it back by 75% or else they'll cut us off, no more warnings.... Anyone else had similar warnings?

btw, the person who called wasnt some dumbass customer service, the guy actually knew what a Gigabyte is 🙂

If anyone knows what their limit is...please post it, I remember seeing some posts complaning about the "limited" aspect of comcasts unllimited internet service...

374GB in what, a week?

Even in a month that's a little excessive, that's over 10 GB per day every single day of the week plus another 74 GB just for sh!ts & giggles.

9 MB a minute around the clock.

WTF are you doing to use that kind of bandwidth?

Viper GTS

hehe I think if i shared my ftp with AT i'd have more problems then just downloading....Road runner isnt available here, and in northern VA they have contacted people...it is entirely regional.

WTF? 12 gb a day? if it's download only (I'm assuming).. there isn't that much released in a day let alone download?
that's ~500 megs an hour.. can you even download 500 megs an hour? I believe comcast is capped at 400 kb/s... someone do the math.

you dont have to sit and watch the downloads go....hell, most of my stuff gets downloaded when I'm out of the house....and considering theres 374 GB of it, thats a lot of time out of the house.

btw my connection is at least 7mbit, i've maxxed out at 1.5MByte/sec occasionally, but typically it is around 500-550KBytes/sec

Another reason why I won't go to Comcast. They put a cap without saying what the number of GB is. 374Gb is excessive in their opinion.

But I could easily DL 24GB everyday If I wanted to. Getting 3000/384 service with Earthlink DSL. No calls from them so far after 3 1/2 years. I just filled up a Maxtor 200GB HDD in less a month with HDTV movies.
