If they bring some of the better, old-school Playstation games to PSP -- particularly Final Fantasy 7/6 or Chrono Trigger -- then I'll shell out $300.
If they're smart, that's what they'll do. Look what porting NES and SNES games has done for the GBA.Originally posted by: tallest1

Goes to show you how much I've been keeping up. In that case, since the games come on 1.4Gb discs i'm sure you can omit certain parts of the game and fit it on a Memory Stick Pro.
Plus, by running a game on a Memory Stick you will be saving battery life.
Edit: There is actually a 2GB Memory Stick Pro available, I'll definitely be getting that plus a PSP. You know how many DivX/Xvid movies formatted for the PSP screen that you can fit on a 2GB memory stick? Awesome!

I'll probably buy one (if it has a >8 hr battery life) after the first price drop. If the battery life is <8 hours, no thank you.

The price has been known to be quite high...Sony's aiming for a different market here, since it's not solely a handheld gaming system.
Don't underestimate the Sony. 😉

Don't underestimate Sony fanboys 😛
Still, I don't see the PSP eating too much of Nintendo's market share.
